heyyy everyone,,, sorry for y'know disappearing,,,, to get straight to the point: yes, i gave up on inktober, mostly because its been a really busy and stressful month for me. i know, i know, excuses and such. but i forgot how much of a toll drawing art to post actually takes on me! especially with all the extracurriculars im trying to juggle, with increasingly more difficult school work (yay high school) which brings me to my second point. last year, i got pretty darn close to finishing inktober. pretty sure i stopped on like day 27 or something. but after that, i posted a lot less, and vanished for basically the entire first half of 2022. all thanks to our good ol' friend burnout. it takes me a good hour or two just to sit down and complete a small character ref, which i know seems slow, but its the pace i like to work at. doing that, every single day, for almost a whole month, it really gets to you after a while. especially if you're forcing yourself to come up with character concepts and unique designs! essentially, i got so burnt out from doing nothing but that all month, and THEN my big halloween project, that i couldnt be bothered to draw stuff for you guys- instead, i spent a lot of time looking into new interests, moving past MCYT stuff, and using a lot of other social medias outside scratch and thats where this story leads. i didnt feel like forcing myself to draw designs, and do something i really wasn't the interested in, because i felt like it was "tradition" rather, i spent time drawing stuff i really liked, and posted it to other social media sites, interacting with communities there. and ill keep doing that! sure, i love it here, but it gets old after a while, so its good to branch out. im not worried about just trying to impress my followers, or get new ones, i just want to make content i like now! all of this is basically a long way of saying: no, i wont finish inktober, but i might make a dta with some of the leftover designs ive got lying around at some point! i'd also like to keep posting the occasional animation meme and if you want to see what ive been up to in my free time this month, either check out my tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/severely-lacking or my alt twitter where i post a lot of my thoughts and life stuff! https://twitter.com/mizzy_but_worse ill see y'all later, and i hope everyone has a wonderful day/night <3
