Poem number two, Please enjoy!
Death and Life – A Poem by Adelia My fingers clasp your fragile ones. As we walk up to The Door, That broken humanity courses through us, As we stare; just brown, no glory, no blood. Death is on the other side, how foreboding he seems! As through the cracks, his presence gleams. We can’t go, but our feet are stuck, As we go to sleep, never to wake up. We can’t hide; he’s everywhere, Staring at us like a fox to a hare, But I grab your hand, you are stock still, But dragging two along is like climbing a hill. White light seeps out into our place, Slipping out and trying to slow its bait, Every breath pulls at me, A breath longer that I’m free, The light, it whispers into my heart Tells me that I need to die, this beat will be my last, You’re pushed out, death wants me only, I hope you go into life, be happy without me, Then the light clears, a moan of pain, Almost sends me back to my grave, Your take me by the hand and I grin, As you and your fire sends the white burnin’ Life is precious; hold it with love, Things will never be over till you give up.
