Hey, this is the first of my many, many, many movie (series)reviews that I plan on doing on Scratch, at least. This took me WAAY longer than I meant for it to, hopefully I'll get more out quicker Have a great day! thanks for checking this out, to anyone who sees it
Episode I: The Phantom Menace Alright, so...Most people don't like this movie, and there are some pretty good reasons why. (One of them absolutely being Jar Jar Binks.) But, unlike most people, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Pros: The action moments still hold up, the Anakin in space scene is a classic(it goes on a formula I noticed on my first few watches as a kid, but I'll talk more about that some other time), and Darth Maul is pretty awesome as well. Cons: yes, the CG aged the best, especially for things like the battle droids, or the battle of Naboo, or in the basic animation for Jar Jar himself(or his character, even though I personally took a liking to him as a kid); but besides the CGI, the story is actually pretty decent. Darth Maul's a good villain, even though he only had two lines(which does NOT do him justice, and I'm not even a complete stan, he's just THAT cool); and Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's relationship as well as young Anakin's/Shmi's Mother-Son relationship are just beautiful to watch onscreen. I know I'm probably on an island by myself(relatively speaking) but I couldn't avoid this movie any more than I can avoid talking about the Last Jedi. Obviously, it's not the shining gem of the Prequels. It ain't even remotely close to Revenge of the Sith. But it's not the worst movie in the saga, even though that's not saying much. If you made it this far, I personally think The Last Jedi is the worst of Disney's Star Wars Trilogy
