With xeir goal in mind, xe trained to be strong enough, fast enough, and brave enough to be one of the Defenders. Xe applied to be a Defender, but xe were turned away with a simple response: "You're too young." Xe thought that was stupid. Xe were surely as strong, as fast, and as brave as the other Defenders! So xe never gave up. Xan applied many more times until finally, on xeir eigth try the Defenders recognized xeir perserverance and accepted xem as a member of the Sunrise Defenders. As Xan accepted xeir Soulstone, the red stone in the middle of the forehead of every Defender that gave them the power of flight and shapeshifting, xeir appearance changed to match the other Defenders. Xe were a symbol of bravery and persistence throughout the desert despite being the youngest Defender. Wheeeeee :P
