Just a fair warning because I'm not sure what it will do to your device. -FYI this is on loop and it's pretty long so you might want to remember what the beginning looks like so you don't watch it all over again _____________________________________________ HEART Q) What surprised me about the book? A) This device Charlie used was based on a mythological creature called a chimera which is multiple animals fused together. At first, it was simply described as an athletic arm band. EVID) pg. 144 "'Chimera,' he said, reading the page in front of him, and then he clicked on the audible pronunciation. 'ki-MEER-ah,' it said. Mac read the description and summarized, 'Basically, it's a creature from Greek mythology made up of different animal parts.'" _____________________________________________ HEART Q) Is there anything that I think should have been explained or introduced differently in the book? A) I felt that the book should have introduced the animal soldiers a bit differently because they sort of showed up out of nowhere and there was no later explanation. EVID) pg. 317 "'Hey, what the heck!" Maria stopped abruptly, staring ahead of them at something moving amid a grouping of saguaro cacti in front of a church. "Is it Comicon weekend or something?'" _____________________________________________ HEAD Q) What did the book make me feel? A) It made me feel bad for this girl who had just moved, was having trouble finding friends, trying her best to join the soccer team, and then was given the bracelet with chimera powers that she couldn't control. EVID) pg. 7 "Her stomach hitched as everything about moving away became so immediate. The truck was loaded, the house was empty. She'd never play soccer with Amari or her other friends again." _____________________________________________ HEAD Q) What did I learn about others after reading this book? What life lessons did I learn after reading this book? A) You don't truly know what someone is going through, the power of many is stronger than one, and you don't know what you are capable of unless you try. You should always try putting your best into anything you do. EVID) pg. 68 "The blue team cheered. The flabbergasted red team stared. Charlie too, breathing hard, almost unable to believe she'd scored a goal. Then she caught Kelly staring intently at her, and she wasn't smiling. Charlie, stopped short, a little shocked by the glare, then decided to ignore it. She turned around, pumped her fist in the air, and started jogging back to her position."
