TW: BUGS Written below
“District 6, Leopard Diamondback Doulte!” Finally, his name was called. He followed the path to the victor's garden, and he gripped his beloved weapon. Of course, he requested an axe. When he was young, he had taken an interest in the weapon and had carried it ever since. Now, it was like an extension of his arm. When he stepped inside, three thoughts flashed in his mind. 1. Yuck what's that smell? 2. Do the victors fancy bugs? I didn't know that. 3. How do they stand the smell? He looked up and saw the gamemakers wearing masks, safe from any smell. Of course. There was amusement glittering in their eyes, and some pitying. He gritted his teeth and tried not to gag. He didn't have any plan to let them enjoy his suffering by making a fool of himself. He swung his axe on his shoulder and looked around. There, he found a heart hidden inside a flower. Was it that easy? Just go there and pull the heart out? He took a step and immediately found himself swarmed with bugs. He grimaced. He wasn't scared of bugs, he was used to them but it was the stench of them. Not breathing, he attacked the insects, and to his surprise, they fell, d3ad. It was that simple. Grinning, he swung his axe, the familiar touch of it calming him. He threw his axe like a boomerang, managing to wipe out any insects advancing, and caught it midair. Then he slid the axe straight toward the flower, cutting off vines and roots, making a clean path to the flower. He ran, weaponless, before more vines and insects could get ahold of him. He snatched the heart and examined it. Of course, it was fake. It would have been more fun if it was real, but well, he couldn't do anything to change it. He put the fake heart next to him for a while, picked up the axe, looked up to the gamemakers and sneered. "I hope you enjoyed it." He said sarcastically, his voice ringing loud and clear. He had to admit, he had shown the gamemakers. What they think of him was not his problem anymore. Not sure what to do with the heart, he picked it up and clamped it firmly in his jaw, and went out, relieved to breathe in the fresh air again.
