Rain was pouring over the ruined cityscape of Chicago, and the light smell of smoke filled the air around me. As I walked through the broken glass and gravel, I thought to myself, Was it really worth it? Should I really have listened to Cancer_Cat? I sighed. As I trudged through the streets I could hear the whispering of human voices, voices of people who sought refuge in the cracked walls of the broken buildings and houses. I heard myself being mentioned; They referred to me as a monster, tears welled up in my eyes. I glanced into the boarded up window; and was greeted by eyes staring back at me, once it noticed that I saw it, it left the window. I stood there for a moment, listening. All I could hear now was just the sound of rain and thunder. I continued walking, walking to nowhere. There was never a place that I truly belonged, like those civilians said; I’m a monster. And I always will be. By now I couldn't tell the difference between tears and the rain on my face, the echoes of Jet’s painful screams lingered in my mind. The searing pain from my forearms was unbearable, the synthetic skin that was on them had melted off earlier and left only the metal, skeleton-like endo. After what seemed like hours of walking through the cracked streets, I decided to fly up to a roof and sit on the ledge. I pulled out my phone and opened YouTube, as I scrolled through my recommended page, all I could see was recordings of me and Cancer_Cat killing people. Then I saw that someone got a recording of Jet’s death. I reluctantly tapped on the video, and was greeted with an in-airport view of me grabbing Jet by the neck and sending him through the window. The person recording then rushed down the flight of stairs that led to the first floor, and they went out to the parking lot. They stood by the glass door, phone in hand, watching as Jet coughed up his blood and the melted plastic from his voice chip. The skin on the right side of his face had gotten ripped off from him hitting the asphalt, you could see the Scoutbot head that would normally be underneath, the eye on that side had become cracked and broken. You could see where the skin on my forearms was starting to burn and melt a bit from the blue flames that surrounded them. I couldn’t bear to watch the rest, so I skipped to the end of the video. It ended with me turning my head to face the person recording, walking a little to face them all the way, and then running and lunging at them. The phone fell to the ground, onto it’s screen, but was still recording. In the background, you could hear screams of pain and terror as the innocent human was torn to literal shreds. Blood splattered onto the phone, causing the video to become a blurry red mess. After a minute of silence, heavy metal clanking could be heard as I slowly walked towards the phone, you could see the demented smile on my face. I looked down at the phone, then crushed it’s camera as I stomped onto it. The video ended. As tears yet again started to flood my eyes, my grip subconsciously loosened on my phone. It ended up slipping out of my grasp, falling to the ground below. It hit something metal and bounced off of it, continuing it’s downwards journey. Once it hit the ground, it made a thud on the concrete. Right before I was about to go to the ground and pick it up, I heard movement, servos moving. The metal thing my phone had hit on the way down started to move, I then noticed that it was a Scoutbot; but it was way larger than any that I’ve seen. It stood around 20 feet tall, and it’s face had an LED lit visor instead of the normal face. Each hand had all 5 fingers, and each fingertip swooped and came to a point; making a talon-like shape. It’s legs looked almost animal-like, they had a third joint and its feet looked almost like claws. The robot also had no headset, and no hat. It saw my phone on the ground and carefully picked it up, it turned to look up at me, it’s visor displaying the words; ‘I believe this belongs to you, Blu.’ I was confused on how this thing knew my name, but I took my phone anyway. “Thank you.” I hesitantly replied. The robot made a happy sounding chime, and it’s visor displayed a happy emoticon. It was heartwarming in a way.
