Licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ Over 1.1k blocks of code! -------------------------------------------------------- Note: The New Alert button may not appear. Click the flag again to reset its layer. (I have no fix for this right now. This is due to scratch having dumb sprite layering) also the dumb thing about this is it happens exactly 50% of the time when you hit the flag. It always alternates from being shown to not being shown and I don't know why. -------------------------------------------------------- About: My interpretation of what it MAY be like to work at the NWS but from what I know they have a lot more complex data viewers there (and better radar than the one they provide on their website) This is very similar to the NWS ¨Hot Seat¨ game they have. (well actually it's a lot better) -------------------------------------------------------- Lore: Welcome forecaster! It is time for your late shift at NWS Scratchington! Your goal is to manage warnings for central Memesota during an evening severe weather event. Use your data viewer to see what kind of storm you are dealing with. By issuing warnings you can save lives! But be careful, these storms can get bad quickly. Good luck and never stop chasing! -------------------------------------------------------- Changelog: Update (v1.7.2.0) Removed PDS Severe for accuracy [Alert doesn't exist IRL] Updated the Tor-E text to more closely match a real one. Update (v1.7.1.0) UI updates to make it look cleaner. Bug fixing EAS TTS has been changed to remove all mid-sentence cuts [Thanks Amazon] Hotfix (v1.7.0.1) Fixed the storm not changing states (Forgot to replace the event blocks) Current Major Update: Red Alert (v1.7.0) Major rework! Storm changes: Made the storm smaller changed its sim code a bit Alert changes: Made the polygons look better GUI changes: Re-did the entire GUI new tabs (Radar, Reports, Alerts) Report changes: Hovering your mouse over a report on the map will let you view the report data reports now stay for 60 seconds Working to add a day system and storm life cycles Past update: Radar Update (v1.6.0) Re-did the radar graphics to make them more realistic. Storm now jumps to new points instead of smoothly moving (To make it more like real radar scan updates) Changed the map to be a county map warnings now using counties instead of towns All warnings are now custom TTS Messages and the only one left to make is the recorded NOAA Weather Radio message for spotter activation. some bug fixing I plan to add actual storm dissipation at some point in the future. I also will add an event system where a large line moves in. That line will always have an embedded supercell that produces a tornado. -------------------------------------------------------- resources: spc.noaa.gov <-- Storm Prediction Center weather.gov <-- National Weather Service https://www.nssl.noaa.gov/education/hotseat/ <--- NOAA Hot Seat -------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: This project uses potentially valid EAS tones.
