It’s natural to have fears, so Scutekit will have a couple of her own, with good reason. This will include her four phobias. [ SEVERE FEAR ] ❀ ornithophobia ❀ This is the extreme anxiety and fear towards all types of birds. ➽ The fear that birds may attack you, so you feel in danger when a bird is near. ➽ For Scutekit, this is caused by her lack of ability to run or go too fast, so she will be nervous around many large animals, but more specifically birds ➽ She is afraid a bird will attack her and she won’t be able to run away in time to get help ➽ Her fear of birds is more intense than any other animal, since birds can fly and swoop down from anywhere. ➽ People with ornithophobia will be scared from things like bird feathers, bird noises, being around birds, pictures or sculptures of birds, and sometimes even thinking about them. ➽ Symptoms: Dry mouth, Extreme feeling of dread or terror, Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, Profuse sweating, Rapid breathing and heart rate, Shaking or trembling, Shortness of breath [ MEDIUM FEAR ] ❀ Nyctophobia ❀ This is the extreme fear or phobia of the dark ➽ It is pretty common for young people (or in this case cats) to get this phobia, but it can happen through all ages. ➽ People with Nyctophobia might not want to go outside when it’s dark, have trouble sleeping, or have panic attacks. ➽ For Scutekit, she doesn’t like the smothering feeling of the darkness, and is afraid of never knowing if there is a predator or something hidden that she won’t be able to run from, so she will constantly look around. ➽ Her phobia may or may not go away when she gets older ➽ Even thinking about darkness or talking about it can sometimes make her nervous. ➽ Nyctophobia isn’t just about fear of the dark, but also what you can’t see. ➽ Symptoms: Difficulty swallowing and dry mouth, Dizziness and headaches, Excessive sweating, Feelings of dread, catastrophic (terrifying) thoughts and panic attacks, Increased heart rate, non-cardiac chest pain or heart palpitations, Intense emotions, crying and screaming in the dark, Nausea and vomiting when thinking about the dark or nighttime, Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or fast breathing. [ MEDIUM FEAR ] ❀ Atychiphobia ❀ This is the extreme fear or phobia of failure. ➽ People with this phobia may avoid or attempt to avoid any situation in where there is potential failure. This limits growth and also includes fear or ruining a relationship or being a disappointment. ➽ For Scutekit, this will be because of her disability. Even though with practice she can be better than a full-abled warrior, she doesn’t think so. All she knows is that her Da is like her and is the leader, so how can she ever live up to that? ➽ This fear will most likely dissipate after she becomes a warrior. ➽ Fear of failure can cause many emotions, like shame, embarrassment, anxiety, depression, or panic attacks. ➽ Symptoms: Afraid of performing simple tasks at work, home or school, Angry or irritable, Anxious about being judged by others, Depressed or sad, Pessimistic (negative outlook on life), Prone to procrastination if a task or activity seems challenging, Unable to maintain relationships, Unwilling to accept constructive criticism or help. [ MILD FEAR ] ❀ dendrophobia ❀ This is, believe it or not, the extreme fear or phobia of trees. ➽ Somebody with this fear may her scared when seeing or thinking about trees. Sometimes even seeing tree-like things. ➽ People with this fear may be afraid to be near trees. ➽ Possible fears: Dangers hidden in trees, such as spiders, scorpions or snakes, Encountering trees after dark, Shadows made by trees, Sounds of leaves rustling in the wind, Tree branches or entire trees falling on them, Tripping over tree roots, Walking near or underneath trees. ➽ For Scutekit, most of this is due to the fear of branches or trees falling on her while she’s near them, because she won’t be able to get away fast enough. ➽ This fear will be a more mild one, to being at most a reluctance to go any closer, or being very nervous. Not to the point of panic attacks. ➽ Her fear will most likely dissipate after she is older, like 30-40 moons, after she has gotten used to trees and learned how to get out of their way if they fell. ➽ Symptoms: Chills, Dizziness and lightheadedness, Excessive sweating, Heart palpitations, Nausea, Shortness of breath, Trembling or shaking, Upset stomach or indigestion. ➽ NOTE!: Scutekit (when she gets older) will still be able to hunt and fight around trees, she’ll just be more nervous and uncertain while doing so. Sometimes, if near and especially big tree, she may get too scared to go near it. Occasionally she may try to run away but feel cornered by all the trees around her and try to burrow into a bush to hide, feeling like she’s in danger. But keep in mind that is only occasionally.
