Chapter 1 of "Shining World" ~~~ A Sentakushi Story ~~~ Natarii ~~~ "I h8 her." Maira muttered, her ice-blue eyes glaring at the Queen Bee of the school, Natarii Kireina. She pretended to smile and wave when Natarii's dark blue eyes met hers... but Natarii knew dam well what Maira was really doing. Maira flipped her highlighted hair, and quietly murmured to her friend, "What makes her so special? She's not even that pretty." But Maira was lying to herself. Natarii WAS beautiful, with her waist-long dark-purple locks, her vanilla skin, and hourglass shape. [How unfair.] Maira caught herself thinking, then she felt herself boil with anger as a male approached Natarii. * Later : End of school* Natarii laughed, her hand covering her mouth- when one of her friends gasped, "Natarii! Your finger is purple!" She looked at her perfectly manicured hand and paled a bit, "huh? must be the light." but she knew that her finger tip was glowing lavender. "Oh, Natarii... please please don't turn into one of those 'special' elves... just stay a normal one, please! You KNOW everyone here h8s them...-" "Eh, they're more afraid of them.... not really h8s them." another girl added. Maira heard the whole thing. And she definitely saw the confusion and slight nervousness on her nemesis's face. So she bide her time and waited, while she put posters around the school. She smiled. This would be one he// of a party.
* The next day * "You ha v e to go, Natarii! It's a PARTY! We're in high school! We have to go! We HAVE to have fun!" "Everyone will expect you there." Another one of Natarii's many friends murmured, looking at her freshly painted nails. But their 'Queen' was hesitant. It was Maira's party. Why would she ever fall for that? Then someone tapped her shoulder and her friends gasped, one of them fainted. Uzai, aka: Mr. Heartthr//b was looking at her with his gorgeous green eyes. "Hey... I was wondering, are you going to Maira's party?" "Probably not...." Natarii muttered, not quite as charmed by him as her friends. "Great! Pick you up at 5?" "No, I can drive myself. Thanks, though..." at least she tried being polite. He didn't take no for an answer. When he walked away, the group started squealing, "OMGGGG NATARIII!!!" "I can't believe it!" "I can. I'm not surprised-" "I cANT believe you said nO!" "Good thing he's persistent." But Natarii wasn't thrilled. However, when she got home, she put on something fabulous, anyways. Mid as well look good, right? When she made it to the party, people started swarming her, "Can you sing for me?" "Can I have an autograph?" She politely declined and the speaker came on, and Maira came onto the stage. "Helloooo!! How's everyone liking the party, so farrr??" There was a loud cheer from the huge crowd. Maira laughed, "Aww, you guysss... I'm so glad you like ittt!! Anyways, I would like to give someone a little recognition, although... I'm sure she doesn't need any!" She turned her icy eyes on the beautiful girl in the center of the room. "Natarii! Would you mind coming up here? Come onnn!" She grinned when she saw the 14-year-old girl's confused expression. Maira put her arm around Natarii's shoulder (which she didn't appreciate), "Oh, Natarii... when you got here, you really pulled me off the pedestal... but I'm glad. Although..." her expression got dark as she continued speaking into the mic. "I'm not surprised. It must suck to have your mommy leave you for Ellvywood. And your daddy in jail." She stared into Natarii's dark eyes. "Must be the pity that got you here. I wonder what they would say, now." Natarii's body was shaking and her hands got hot. She shoved away from Maira... And landed a p//nch straight in Maira's jaw. Everyone heard the cracking sound it made and gasped. Uzai climbed onto the stage and held Maira back as she leapt back up and lunged at her rival. "FREAK! SEE HOW HER FINGER FLASHES?! ARE YOU SPECIAL, NOW?!" Sure enough. Natarii's finger tip was bright lavender and wouldn't go away. She covered it desperately, but it was too late. Everyone saw and turned on her, giving her dirty looks and backing away. One of Maira's friends snatched Natarii by her silky purple hair and dragged her, while she howled in pa!n. When she was backstage they shoved her into the wall, and made her pay for what she had done to Maira. Then they drove to the school and threw her in a locker, locking the door. * In the morning * When Tsookie, one of Natarii's friends, opened her locker- she yelped as the girl tumbled out. Then she saw who it was and her face darkened. "Oh. It's that Special Freaky Girl. Never mind." She k!cked her out of the way, grabbed her books, then left, slamming her locker door. Natarii dropped out of school, after a week of people messing with her. Her butler taught her, instead, and she read in her free time. Then she got to her job as an idol back, full time. At least she was successful, but miserable and lonely.
