I added more to it than I usually would, since I have the extra space. I tried to give each trait a quote from an author I chose, but for some I couldn’t find a good enough quote, so I’d like to replace some. He fixates on tiny, insignificant details, watching them with wonder. It is difficult for him to see things in a wider view— the future is often irrelevant to him, and the happenings of life outside his clan only cross his thoughts as quickly as the flick of a fish’s fin. ───〖Family & Clinginess〗─── ❝ ɪ ᴀᴍ ɢʟᴀᴅ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴍᴇ. ❞ Family is more important to him than almost anything— he wishes to have the closest bonds he can with his siblings and his parents. He is rather clingy in this way; at the slightest hint that one of them might be angry with him, he rushes to please them. Any sign of distance from his family, either physical or otherwise, is very significant to him. His friends are also important to him in this way, but not nearly as much as his kin. ──────〖Patience〗────── ❝ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴅᴏᴇsɴ'ᴛ sᴇᴇᴍ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀss ʜᴇʀᴇ: ɪᴛ ᴊᴜsᴛ ɪs. ❞ Patience comes very easily to Buttercuprain, and he will wait for a rather long amount of time for something to get done. He finds it easy to entertain himself with by simple things, such as watching a spider spin it’s web or observing his clanmates as they begin to wake at dawn. This can sometimes be taken to the extreme if he finds himself focusing on something particularly interesting. In a simple game of hide and seek, he might sit in his hiding spot for hours after the game had already ended without him realizing. ──〖Emotional & Passionate〗── ❝ ɪ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ʀᴀᴛʜᴇʀ sᴘᴇɴᴅ ᴏɴᴇ ʟɪғᴇᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴛʜᴀɴ ғᴀᴄᴇ ᴀʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɢᴇs ᴏғ ᴛʜɪs ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ. ❞ Buttercuprain’s emotional nature is rather noticeable for those who spend any time with him. It doesn’t take much for his face to light up with excitement, but it’s just as easy for him to become quite sad, or outburst in anger unexpectedly. In a similar way, he is rather passionate. He feels very strongly about his views, but is rather reluctant to speak of them if he thinks those he tells won’t agree. When he does manage to defend his views, his way of doing this often involves a calm, slightly nervous, but unwavering explanation of his views and why he believes in them. It is difficult to change his mind on this sort of thing without a good reason, whether he admits that he is not convinced to you or not. ───〖Submissive & Timid〗─── ❝ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ɪs ɪɴᴅᴇᴇᴅ ғᴜʟʟ ᴏғ ᴘᴇʀɪʟ ᴀɴᴅ ɪɴ ɪᴛ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴍᴀɴʏ ᴅᴀʀᴋ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇs. ❞ Submissiveness and timidness are also rather prominent traits of Buttercuprain. If someone tells him to do something, he’ll likely do it- he sees it as better to stay unassuming and obedient rather than anger those around him. This is especially true towards authoritative figures. Buttercuprain’s timidness makes scaring him into obedience almost effortless. His lack of assertiveness makes it very easy to convince him to do something he’d really rather not do— even something that could potentially harm his clan. Despite this, he is much less likely to agree to something that will harm his kin directly. Buttercuprain becomes afraid very easily, making anything dangerous rather difficult for him to willingly walk into. ─────〖Empathetic〗───── ❝ ɪ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ʜᴀʟғ ᴏғ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀʟғ ᴀs ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴀs ɪ sʜᴏᴜʟᴅ ʟɪᴋᴇ; ᴀɴᴅ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇ ʟᴇss ᴛʜᴀɴ ʜᴀʟғ ᴏғ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀʟғ ᴀs ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴀs ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴇsᴇʀᴠᴇ. ❞ Buttercuprain is empathetic. He often tries to see things from another cat’s point of view, even if just for a moment. He feels that understanding others better may prove to be beneficial in the future, and simply enjoys imagining what another life might be like. Additionally, he tries his best to be comforting when another is upset- though he constantly worries about whether or not he’s doing it right in the process. >>

If there is something Buttercuprain can do to help, he is very likely to do it— he does everything he can to please others and make them happy, and often seems to care more for others’ well-being than his own, generously giving up what he has for their benefit. He tends to feel that is is better to keep things the same rather than risk making things worse by changing them. If life is already going fairly well— even if things aren’t perfect— he sees no reason to change it. When change does inevitably happen, he tends to try to go back to how it was before, and it takes him longer to accept that life might be a bit different. This also applies to systems and rules that are in place in the clans. He lacks foresight, and his thoughts tend to stray away from imaginings of the future. As a result, it is difficult for him to plan ahead or think of what could come beyond the next few days. Brief thoughts of the future are quickly silenced by the decision to focus on the present, and the small details within it. He focuses on the minuscule details of life, whether that is the way a certain rock glitters under the light of the sun or the shifting expressions on another’s face. To him, noticing the behaviors and emotions of other cats is rather easy— he enjoys paying attention to such things, and sometimes does so on purpose when observing nearby conversations. His insightfulness connects largely to his empathy; he notices these details and then tries to imagine what their life might be like based on what he’s seen. ──────〖Optimism〗────── ❝ sᴏ ᴄᴏᴍᴇs sɴᴏᴡ ᴀғᴛᴇʀ ғɪʀᴇ, ᴀɴᴅ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴅʀᴀɢᴏɴs ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴇɴᴅɪɴɢs. ❞ As the common saying says, after rain there is a rainbow, and after storm there is calm. Buttercuprain believes this very strongly, thinking that no matter what comes, life will all become better with enough time. This does not mean that he thinks every small worry will turn out fine, but rather that even if it doesn’t, it will eventually turn out to be for the better. If something goes wrong, he thinks there will always be a second chance, or a way to fix it. He believes that everything will work out on its own in the end, as long as one has enough patience to wait. Hope is never hard to find in the mind of Buttercuprain. ─────〖Contentedness〗───── ❝ ʙᴜᴛ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴅ ɪᴛ's ᴏɴʟʏ ᴀ ᴘᴀssɪɴɢ ᴛʜɪɴɢ, ᴛʜɪs sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡ; ᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴅᴀʀᴋɴᴇss ᴍᴜsᴛ ᴘᴀss. ❞ It is not difficult to be content with life, whatever that life might be like at the time— at least, not for Buttercuprain. He focuses on small delights, such as the familiarity of home or a particularly beautiful sunrise, and clings to them to ward away whatever negative is happening in his life. He takes comfort in knowing his family and friends are somewhere near, or if far then still living, and uses that to remain as content and peaceful as he can. This does not, of course, mean that he is never unhappy— only that he does everything he can to see what light there still is.
