CELIA I etched shapes onto her paper. The teacher was blabbering on about something. Math, obviously. “Celia?” He suddenly called. I was jerked out of daydreaming, “yes..?” I asked, frightened. “Can you tell us the answer to problem 4..?” He said, raising one eyebrow. “Yes, yes. Uhm..” I paused, my fingers tracing my math book. “I got 368.” “How?” “I divided then added the extra..” I paused. “That is not correct… let’s see.. Wanda..? Do you want to tell us the answer?” The teacher sighed, pointing to a girl with bright, sparkling green eyes, and long, silky black hair. “Mhm!” She nodded, I honestly wanted to punch the crud out of her. Wanda hated me. And I hated Wanda. It was normal. We were different. Wanda hated what I liked, therefore hating me. I hated Wanda because Wanda hated ME. “I got 185..” Wanda said smoothly, her expression flashing into smug triumph towards Celia. “That IS correct. Good job!” The teacher praised her smug face. “It’s okay, thank you. I just wanted to help Celia learn that math is actually easy..” she nodded towards me, whom was clenching my hands into fists, trying SO HARD not to rage. My face was red. “Well, class. There are three minutes left, start cleaning up.” I shoved her stuff into her bag, crunching the papers and the book into the small space. She stood up, and abruptly, as well as quickly, stomped out of the room the second the bell rang. Aburn caught up with me. “Relax.. we have only ONE more period left. You’ll survive.” He said calmly, smiling playfully at me. “It’s not school. It’s HER!” I jabbed a finger at Wanda with her compact. “She is unBEARABLE!” I spat. Aburn sighed, then pressed his hand on my shoulder. “Again. You will live.” I relaxed my shoulders. Having Aburn around really helped. He really calmed me. I relaxed my entire body now, stepping into my language arts class. “Welcome!” The teacher there cried. The rest of that period went on FOREVER! I was practically DYING of BOREDOM! Finally, the bell rang. Time to go HOME! I immediately went to bed when I got home. Oblivious to what would happen that next day. ABURN I woke up that morning, and started my routine. I showered, combed my red hair, washed my face, dressed, brushed my teeth, and then had breakfast, an egg and two pieces of bacon. Then I was out the door. The frigid air nipped at my fingers and nose and ears. I stepped outside. Frost has settled on the ground. A red truck zoomed by the main road as I settled down at my bench and pulled out a book. “Hello!” A kind voice pulled my from my book. I left it on my chest. “I’m Chlovar!” A girl with blonde hair and golden brown eyes smiled at me. She was wearing an oversized, green sweater, large boots, and oversized hoop earrings. “Hello..?” I said, puzzled by her choice of style. “Are you a girl? I am!” She paused. “Weird question. DANGIT..” she muttered to herself. “I’m actually male.. well- transgender. Female to male.” I pointed out, closing my book and placing it neatly in my backpack. “Chlo…var..?” I tried pronouncing her name. “It’s pronounced Clover..” she waved her hand dismissively. “Okay..” I said. The bus rolled up to us. I walked into the bus.. and there was a weird kid on my seat..
