-Chapter 1- An Unwanted Scholarship Aurora Academy, you had to be very smart, proper and have a gifted talent for magic If you got into this school, or you could get very lucky, and I mean lucky. My Mother, Catrina Marie, is the Headmasters assistant, it took a large amount of convincing to let me join the Academy, he said, and I quote: "I suppose we could spare a spot for your daughter." My mother said she had to hold back her screams of excitement, I, on the other hand was anything but excited. "Consider it a scholarship, for being good at sports." She had said, I laughed so hard, that milk came straight out my nose. I had told my mother I was perfectly fine with the small village school down the road, but she insisted I get higher education. I cursed as I flopped on my bed. Damn this so called higher education, full of idiots who think they rule the world or something. I hated the idea of being clumped in with the smart rich kids, I wasn't smart, as a matter of fact, I'm dumb, and I for sure wasn't rich, we could barely afford our tiny little house with five people stuffed inside. But my Mother obviously didn't care she was focusing on the part were I would become a famous witch or something. "Ivee! Don't you slam your door like that! This school will be great for you!" My mother yelled from downstairs clinking and clanging the dishes as she washed them. It wasn't even a school, it was prison. I got up and off my bed and stormed down the stairs to help with dinner. No matter how much I didn't want to, I was the second oldest of my three other siblings, and my mom being a single mom, she needs all the help she can get. I shifted through the cupboards, my mother stared at me waiting for me to say something. "What do you want me to say?" I asked with a frown. "Your attitude is rotten." She said holding up a rotten orange peel and somehow looking proud at her pun. I rolled my eyes. My mother always said that I rolled my eyes so much so she created a saying just for me: "You could roll those eyes all the way up to the skies." She felt proud the first time she said it, and I just laughed thinking nothing of it, now it's a constant joke in our household. "Why don't you head up stairs and throw the old attitude away, hm?" She added, I hated it when she brought up attitude, my attitude isn't the problem it's you forcing me into going to this prim and proper school. I quickly grabbed five plates and cups and set the table ignoring my mothers stares. "Mommy...?" My little sister Max peeped her head in the open window outside. "Maxey what happened?" My mother broke eye contact and ran to embrace her poor child. “I peed myself and then everyone laughed at me, so I ran home!” She was right, a small wet spot was visible on her pants and I immediately cringed and went back upstairs. I landed on my bed sighing as I heard my mother rushing Max to the bathroom. Then, I heard a bang on my tiny window above my bed… To be continued :D Thank you for reading Aurora Academy!!
