So basically, I’m doing Seussical, and the cast, crew, and pit all do a secret Santa where you write your name, pronouns, favorite color, things you like, and a couple friends your Santa can ask for help. I happened to draw the lead, the Cat in the Hat himself. I learned this form of art over the summer and decided to make one for him. The entire time I was wishing I had rubber cement, and that I had thought to put it on my paper. That’s why the white paper looks so janky. I’ve been told it’s called ‘scherenschnitte’ though I could absolutely be wrong about that. I’ve looked it up and actual scherenschnitte is way more gorgeous than whatever I can whip up. I wasn’t done with it the time of the picture. (Also he loved it. One of my friends gave it to him because, like, it’s a secret, and he was in absolute awe. I also overheard him talking about it to his friend, and saying “yeah I got my first gift today. Look at this. Do you see it this? Isn’t it SO GOOD?!”)
