01. the dnd game (ST + steddie) characters - Steve, Eddie, Robin, Dustin POV - Steve's POV THIS IS SO CRINGE UGHHHH- *sob* Today was like any other day. I woke up, got dressed, fixed my hair, and got ready to go pick up Robin. After all of that, I walked down my stairs to go get some coffee and get my keys so I could leave. Then I got a phone call. It was Robin. "HEY DINGUS! Ya pickin' me up for school, right?" She yelled so loud I almost had a headache. "Yeah, yeah, I'm picking you up... I was about to leave." I yawned into the phone as I scratched my head. "Okay, coolio! See you soon, Stevie!" She quickly yelled again and hung up. I grumbled then got ready to leave. I stumbled out of my house, locked the door, and walked to my car. Then I drove to pick Robin up. Once I got there, she rambled on about Vickie and how much she likes her. "Vickie is so nice!" and "She's so pretty!" and blah, blah, blah. I could barely listen to her, so every few seconds I just said "Hmmm." so she believed I was listening. Once we pulled into the school parking lot, she got out, waved bye, and walked into the building. I yawned again as I told her bye. Then suddenly out of nowhere I felt a familiar arm grab me and pull me to the side of the parking lot. Henderson. It was Henderson. I put on my best "I'm fully awake!" face and spoke up. "Hey Dustin." I said to him, sounding as happy as I could. "Hey Steve! I was just wondering, do you wanna join the DnD game today?? I could introduce you to a few people!" He gave me the puppy dog eyes and begged me. I couldn't say no to him. He's like my kid, and I love him. "I- Fine. You're lucky that you're my best friend, okay kiddo?" He laughed and smiled. "THANK YOU SO MUCH, STEVE!" He hugged me around the waist. I patted his back and he let go. "Okay, come into that empty classroom on the related arts hallway at 11:00 and knock three times. JUST THREE. Either me or someone else will let you in." He hugged me again and stood in front of me. "Okay, see you there, Henderson." He saluted me and started to walk away. "OKAY, CAPTAIN HARRINGTON! SEE YOU THERE!" He yelled as he walked away towards the school doors. I sighed and walked into school. "Just another day, Steve." I quietly whispered to myself as I walked into my first period class. A few hours and classes later, it was 11:00, and I had to go watch Dustin's DnD game. I walked to the related arts hallway, found the empty classroom, and knocked on the door. And three times exactly, like Dustin said. I sat in the hallway for a few seconds, straightening up my clothes and fixing my hair. Then someone cracked the door. A tall, long haired guy, with rings, ripped black jeans, white sneakers, a metal chain hanging from his belt loop, a 'Hellfire Club' shirt, and a no-sleeve blue jean jacket decked out with pins and metal bands stood in the crack of the door, looking at me while he squinted. "Who are you...?" His raspy but calming voice dancing its way through my ears. "I- Uh-" I was mesmerized. I don't know why, but I was. "NO STEVE! HE'S A GUY! YOU CAN'T LIKE GUYS!" I told myself as I looked at my feet and scratched my head. "I'm Steve Harrington. I'm Dustin's friend. He wanted me to come-" I looked back up at the long haired boy as he stared at me with his piercing dark brown eyes. He looked like a doe. (baby deer) "Okay, pretty boy. Nice to meet you. My name's Eddie Munson. People call me "The Freak" around here." He opened the door wider as he stood in the frame of it. "Okay... C-cool." I could feel my face getting hot as I looked at his beautiful brown eyes. "Jesus..." I mumbled out under my breath. "Hmmm?" He looked up at me after fiddling with his rings. "Oh- I- Nothing- Can I come in now...? Or am I just gonna wait out here all day?" I struggled to get out the sentence as I blushed. "Sorry, come in. Don't touch anything." He apologized and held the door open for me, winking as I walked by. "DUSTIN!" I saw Dustin in the corner of the room, practicing for something, probably the game. "HARRINGTON!!! HEY!! You made it!" He laughed and smiled. "Yeah I did! You know I wouldn't miss it!" I laughed as I ran up to Dustin, picking him up and hugging him. "I see that you've met our leader, Eddie!" He nudged me in the shoulder as I put him down. "Yeah, I have... He's... cool." I whispered to Dustin as I looked at Eddie from across the room. I saw he was looking at us while we spoke, and we made eye contact for a split second before both of us looked away and looked at something else. "Uh, cool, he's better than cool! He's awesome!" Dustin giggled and poked me. "Okay then, he's awesome." I whispered to Dustin. "Yeah! Okay, I gotta go get ready for the game. It was fun talking to you!" He patted me on the shoulder as he walked over to the other kids who were getting ready. The only person who wasn't doing anything at
(continues) all was Eddie. I walked over to him and stood beside him in the awkward silence. "So... How long have you known Henderson?" I asked him trying to break the silence. "Uh, about since school started, which was about 5 or 6 months ago... How about you?" He glanced at me, and I swore his face was red. "For probably 3 or 4 years... He's like my kid." Surprisingly he laughed. "That kid talks about you all the time, man. It's kinda annoying, I gotta say. I just never thought you'd be nice." He looked at me and put his hand on my shoulder, which sent a shock through my body. "Hmmm, weird. Why'd you think I'd be mean?" He shook his head. "Dunno, man. Just thought you were like all the other popular kids in this school." He looked at me with his big brown eyes and I blushed. He saw me because soon after he winked at me and said something that gave me butterflies. "Hey, princess, you okay? You're turning a little red!" He put his hand on my forehead and checked if I had a fever. "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay... Just a little, well, mesmerized, but okay." I looked him in the eyes and he smiled. "Here's my number, Stevie. Call me if you wanna hang out. As friends, of course." He quickly scribbled his number onto my hand and winked. (part 2 coming soon! sorry for this being so long- I got into a rabbit hole of writing- ;-;)
