The day 19 terrorists took over 4 U.S. planes and crashed them into the world trade center, The Pentagon and attempted to crash into either The White House or The Capital Building. This resulted in 2,996 people's deaths and terrified so many more. In this project I have drawn the three places where the planes crashed. 1. The World Trade center ( Twin Towers) New York City, NY Most of you on scratch were most likely not alive to ever see the World Trade Center while it was still standing. These two buildings towered over New York City, over 50,00 people worked in them. At 8:46 Am on monday sept. 11, 2001 the North tower was hit by a hijacked plane on route from Boston. 17 minutes later, the South tower was hit as well. All passengers on both planes were killed on impact. At 9:59 the South tower started to fall. Those on the higher floors on the building were trapped because the stairway was destroyed. By 10:30 both towers were gone. About 2,750 people were killed in this event. 2. The pentagon, Virginia The third Hijacked plane hit The Pentagon at 9:37 AM. It hit the West side of the pentagon and killed 184 people. It was hit by flight 77 coming from Virginia and going to California. 3. A field in Pennsylvania Flight 93, from new Jersey to California was the last flight her taken over by the terrorists. By this time some people on board the flight had been notified about the other attacks. So when passengers noticed that the plane had to started to go off its route, they started to fight back. It is unknown as to if they took over the plane from the terrorists or if their fight made the terrorists crash the plane. It landed in a field in Pennsylvania. Everyone onboard was killed. 4. The American Flag Though this was a horrible event, it made us Americans strong. The goal of the terrorists plan was to scare us, so if we had given up hope and stopped living, then they would have won. But we didn't, i know that my school kept going, there were school trips, like the 8th grade DC trip and we didn't cancel any of them. We wouldn't let them win. ~Stay strong America~
