A Boy and His Atom: The World's Smallest Movie is the title of the Guinness Book of World Records for the smallest analogue film, i.e. the film on the smallest carrier medium. The film only lasts a minute. It was created on April 30, 2013 at the IBM Almaden Research Center. It consists of 242 individual images in stop-motion technique and shows the contours of carbon monoxide molecules, whose position was manipulated with the help of a scanning tunneling microscope in such a way that they form a boy playing ball. thumbnail: pixabay
