!!TW!! murder, gun, the making yourself not exist, death fortea concept art for if mahler was the protagonist. also idk that much about mahler so sorry if this is inaccurate my idea for this concept is that in the beginning mahler gets revived from the dead because he kind of always wanted to cheat death (curse of the 9th) so he gets reborn by mozart to get another shot at life. The only thing is, his ultimate fate is to work at a boba tea shop with 5 other composers for the rest of his life, or should i say lives? as the webcomic progresses, things start to get really uncanny and unusual (there is a dark aura surrounding a composer which basically tells him his life is over), and one of the 5 composers m_rder him, ending his life. to his surprise though, he gets revived again by mozart but this time in kind of a distorted alternative universe, where he and his closest friend in his 2nd life (1st in the webcomic), holst are the only people working at the boba tea shop. mahler wonders where the other 4 are and why no one is going to their shop but holst just dismisses it as they were the only ones in the universe to begin with and it is just their fate to work even though there are no customers. a familiar dark aura surround holst, and mahler now knows that in the end holst will end up m_rdering him, so he runs only to be cornered at the back of the storage room. and ye holst ends up sh00ting him which is why he's holding a badly drawn gun in the panel. so now mahler has died 3 times including his irl life as a composer and 2 lives as a boba tea barista. as time passes, mozart keeps reviving him but his life ends with one of the 5 composers m_rdering him. before hes reborn into a new life, he asks mozart "what if i don't want to be reborn? what if i don't want to just live another life and not feel fulfilled at the end of it?" mozart is like "but i thought you didn't want to d!e in the first place. im just giving you what you want." he then revives mahler again. mahler then realizes that he should have cherished his 1st life and not always wanted to live another one. after he realizes this, he chooses that his time has already long passed and makes himself not exist before the last of the 5 composers can k1ll him first. at the end, he is a ghost and wanders around in the present day. he misses living a life but is grateful for the time he was alive. he comes across a concert hall, and goes inside. there, he sees 200+ musicians in an orchestra and a conductor performing his symphony no. 2. in the audience, he spots a young child looking in awe at this amazing work. mahler realizes that even though he is not alive anymore, what he did and his music will always live on forever, and that he doesn't need to physically exist to be fulfilled. wow that got deep really fast maybe ima post this on oboe_reed idk idk if i have the mental capacity or strength to draw or think about this heavy of a subject without crying but it also kind of serves as a vent for me at the same time so ye just a concept, idek if mahler is going to be the protagonist but i like this idea but i also want to develop the others a bit more askldjfalsdkf i kind of want it to have wholesome/funny moments, have a little bit of horror, and also make it very emotional and will make you cry. fortea is just an au rn and not a webcomic ill probably do allegro! first because 1. its more lighthearted even tho it does deal with stuff like trauma and 2. i already have set plot and characters
