Warriors: A Fan-Made Series Book 1: Snowballing Troubles Chapter 3 Part 2 “A-Acorntree, where am I? Am I in MoonClan already?” Snowball panicked. “Uh…no, I am. I’m err… what do you call it. Ah-HA! VIsiting you in your dreams!” Acorntree grinned. “And I have… something.” “What?” Snowball said at the same time Acorntree said, “Here!” He saw lots of different images in his head and he shut his eyes again. A raven flew overhead in the dark night sky. A faceless orange tom gave a piercing yowl. The battle cry. A group of cats, including a black one with the orange cat, charged towards another clan, claws lashing out. The black cat pounced on another cat. That other cat was white, and she lashed out fiercely. Despite all her efforts, the black cat scratched her throat and she lay on the ground, dead. Snowball woke up, heart pounding furiously in his ears. His mind was filled with the prophecy. “Blood will come and cats will die if the secret of the forest is not discovered,” he heard in the voice of his deceased brother. What Snowball did first thing the next day was to panic and ponder. Acorntree had sent him a prophecy from MoonClan. MoonClan had also sent Speckledfur a sign. Both were about blood and cats dying. They were definitely related. “Woah there, Snowball,” Speckledfur said to him as she came into the Medicine Den after returning from getting herbs. “What’s up? You’re extremely twitchy this morning.” She put the herbs she had been carrying down. She pushed one of them to Snowball, which he ate without a sound. “Speckledfur,” Snowball swallowed the last of the herb down. He meowed, ears twitching, “I received a prophecy from MoonClan last night in my dreams. Blood will come and cats…cats will die if the secret of the forest is not discovered. I think that the sign you received and this are related.” Speckledfur nodded vigorously at Snowball. “The two must be related. Perhaps it would be best if you told Rainstar personally,” she said. She then went out of the den and went to find Rainstar. Snowball sat up straight on the moss. After just one day, his wounds have almost healed completely. Speckledfur was a tremendously efficient medicine cat. He licked and groomed his whole body as he waited for Rainstar, making himself look presentable. Rainstar strode into the Medicine Den after a few minutes. She sat next to Snowball, holding her head up regally. “Speckledfur said you have something to tell me. What is it?” With detail, Snowball recounted everything that MoonClan had told him the day before. Rainstar seemed extremely worried about that. “I have to make preparations for that,” she said with her eyes closed, rubbing her forehead. She then looked at Snowball and said, “By the way, you should know that there will be a Gathering the day after tomorrow. Speckledfur said that your wounds would be fully healed by then. You will be able to come to the Gathering.” Happiness fizzed within Snowball and threatened to burst out of him. But as StormClan’s leader was still in front of him, he swallowed and tried to control his delight. Putting on his grateful face, Snowball said to Rainstar, “Thank you, Rainstar, I’ll definitely come.” After that, he meowed thankfully again. Rainstar gave him a nod before strolling out of the den. As soon as Rainstar exited the Medicine Den, Snowball could not help but smile and quiver in excitement. He, Snowball, was going to the Gathering! Night fell and as Snowball rested his head on his paws, laying down comfortably, he thought over and over again about the Gathering. It would be his first Gathering as a warrior. Snowball was so ecstatic that his grief about Acorntree disappeared for that moment.
