“Fawn, get your nose out of there and go practice!” Heron snapped at Fawn, shooting her an angry glare. Fawn dropped her gaze to her claws and withdrew from a patch of marigold. It wasn’t fair. She wanted to learn how to /heal/ dragons, not hurt them. But, of course, her mother would be furious and her father would be horrified. They wanted their dragonets to be revolutionary fighters, not cowardly healers. “Yeah, Fawn. Shouldn’t you be practicing that leap-and-twist? You aren’t too good at it, and it’s a basic one.” Coypu snickered. He flicked Fawn’s nose with his thick tail and turned away. Heron nodded approvingly at Coypu. Fawn angrily stomped away towards the glade behind her house. She stopped at her favorite pond and sat down. Still angry, she shredded the grass between her claws. Why couldn’t her parents just understand that she wasn’t a fighter? For one, she was too small and thin to be a fighter. She wasn’t broad-shouldered like her siblings or heavily built like her parents. Two, she didn’t like hurting dragons. It always made her feel guilty afterwards. “Fawn?” Fawn jumped slightly, and turned around to see who has spoken. Her sister, Lilypad, was staring at her in concern. “Are you ok?” Fawn wiped her snout. “I guess.” Lilypad blinked, and nodded. She turned around and left. Fawn hoped that her sister wouldn’t mention this to her parents. Lilypad was a respectable dragon, but Fawn wasn’t sure. “You want to be apprenticed to /me/?” Kapok’s surprised murmur send chills down Fawn’s spine. She always admired the RainWing healer from a distance, but to hear him speak to her was even better. His dull blue scales shifted to yellow on the tips of his ears. “No one’s asked to be my apprentice before. Yes, of course I’ll train you.” Fawn bounced up and down with glee. (I can always write more later, this is just how she came to be a healer. She avoided her family for a while till they chilled out lol. Kapok died before most of the characters were adults, so he’s not in the rp)
