If they are without food, water, or shelter, call the SPCA. ★ What is a life-chained dog? ★ In basic terms, a life-chained dog is a dog that spends most of, if not all of its life on a chain, rope, or other tether. They also usually: - get no exercise - have unreliable water access - have improper, unsuitable, or no shelter - are only provided food when the "owner" remembers - aren't de-flead, de-wormed, neutered, registered, vaccinated, or micro-chipped, often because the owners aren't willing to spend money on it - rarely or never have faeces removed from their living area - have little or no human interaction - have little or no vet care - have injuries caused by having a chain permanently chaff their neck, or an embedded collar/chain - are 2.8 times more likely to bite than an unchained dog #breakthechain
