I woke up from a light tap on my shoulder. It was the royal physician, I could tell by her dark coily hair, bunched up at the top of her head. "Arya. I am happy to see that you have enjoyed writing in your journal." She said, looking directly at the book and pen next to me on my bed. "Oh, yeah. What time is it?" I asked, barley opening my eyes. It was light but not too light, the sun shining just enough for me to see. I had barely gotten used to the Rose House. It was beautiful. My room had marble floors, the walls a perfect shade of baby pink, with wide windows and the fluffiest bed and the nicest fireplace I had ever seen. "It's eight o'clock. A few people may come in to choose your outfit for today. Is that okay?" "Um, OK." She left, and a few minutes later, four or five people rushed into my room, asking me what I wanted to wear. The first outfit was a red pleated skirt with a long-sleeved white blouse, and beautiful red high-heels. "Do all of these outfit have high heels?" I asked to the lady showing me the outfits. She nodded. I sighed. One of the people next to her gigled, and brought out a few pairs of sneakers that matched perfectly with all the outfits. The next was similar to the first, but instead a green blouse and a black leather skirt. After about fifteen minutes of showcasing, trying on and accessorising, I settled on a Plain white blouse, a stunning houndstooth print sweater, black leather skirt, and skin-colored leggings. Instead of high heels, the clothing designer (I soon learned her name was Lottie) agreed on me wearing sneakers. I was soon directed to go downstairs and eat breakfast. I walked down the stairs, the sound of my footsteps heavy against marble. I can't believe this would be my life now. Living with a bunch of people I didn't know, going to a completely random college, being referred to as princess. I walked down the hall and made a left, as instructed, and found myself in a gigantic room, with the highest ceiling I have ever seen. The ceiling was decorated with paintings and beautiful carvings into the roof. "Hello, Arya." A man said, wearing a suit. His hair was dark brown, just like mine, but had no curls. "You are my dad?" I asked, with pure curiosity. "No, I am not. I am your mother's sibling. Unfortunately, your mother p@ssed a few years ago. Your father as well, due to natural causes. You are the princess because I have no children." He said, smiling. "Okay." I said, trying my best to sound composed. Why had I never known this? I just thought my parents got up and left me behind. I even had hope that they were out there somewhere, waiting for me to return. They were de. "The Queen has chosen not to join us for breakfast today." He said, pushing around the food on his plate. I nodded, too shocked to eat anything. I wanted to ask what my mother was like, what color were her eyes and did she like to write, was she a good student, how did she meet my father. Maybe even what her favorite color was or her favorite song, but I couldn't. So we sat and ate in silence.
