Who remembers loading C64 games from tape... and the loading screens that kept us sane (...they did?). My aim was to more-or-less reproduce two of the types of loading bars ("raster bars") you used to see. ▶ The overall style & 'colour pairs' bars are based on the original Freeload ("Ocean Loader") created by Paulie Hughes in the 1980s. ▶ Music is the original Ocean Loader 5 by Jonathan Dunn. ▶ Images are the original C64 loading pictures from a selection of Ocean games (by Simon Butler, Jon Hare, John Cumming, Steve Caine, Karen Davies, Andrew Sleigh, Stephen Wahid, Ivan Davies, Jane Lowe & John Palmer) ▶ Commodore 64 logo is from Wikipedia. Version 1.2 (2023-05-12) ▶ Changed project name from Loading Screen to Loading Bars ▶ Updated colours to match Lemon 64 ▶ Added more variation in bar patterns ▶ Added new loading images ▶ Colour definitions now use variables/lists rather than hardcoded numbers ▶ Changed thumbnail font to C64 style ▶ Other minor improvements Version 1.1.1 (2022-12-24) ▶ Re-recorded music in mono rather than stereo (no difference in sound quality since the C64 outputs mono) Version 1.1 (2022-12-12) ▶ Re-ordered the flow of the 'draw' custom block script to make it easier to understand ▶ '16 colours' bars now also have split-colour lines ▶ Added the remaining 3 colour pairs ▶ Other minor improvements Version 1.0.1 (2022-12-01) ▶ Renamed custom blocks to be more 'Scratchy' ▶ Now supports mouse click ▶ Other minor improvements Version 1.0 (2022-11-27) ▶ First release #c64 #retro
