꧁ About the Project ꧂ These are FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about GWDFI promotions! ** Please do not ask a question until you have read the full FAQs. If it wasn’t answered, ask it below to be answered by a manager!! ꧁ FAQs and Answers ꧂ Q: Are there any specific things people do that make them more likely to be suggested/promoted? A: One of the most important things is that they are kind, helpful, appropriate, and responsible. This means they handle drama well, treat everyone with respect, and do not make suggestive comments. We are also making sure the people we promote are mentally prepared. This means they have an alright mental health state, are ready to take responsibility, and more. Being a GWDFI manager is like a job, and that requires being able to do your job happily and with a positive attitude. :) Q: What are the qualities of a good manager and optionally a not so good? A: the good qualities have been stated, so here are qualities of some not so good qualities. 1. Inactive 2. Doesn’t work well with others 3. Irresponsible 4. Has a history of breaking GWDFI rules Q: What are the hardest parts about managing? A: There are a many, but some main ones are 1. Activity — being a manager means you are going to have to be able to set some time aside to manage the studio. You may go on hiatus, but you are greatly encouraged to check in whenever possible! Please do not consider managing if you know you will not be able to be online. 2. Handling Drama — GWDFI is a community, and that means you’re going to have friends. Unfortunately, drama can be common. To manage GWDFI, you have to be able to be unbiased and do what’s best for the studio and not your personal relationships. This also means that you may have to confront people. 3. Enforcing Rules — By now, you’ve probably gotten used to the timeout rule recently implemented. This means that you will have to keep track of inappropriate comments, and not be afraid to let someone know if they are breaking a rule. This also means to revisit the GWDFI rules frequently to make sure that you know exactly how to approach the situation. 4. Teamwork — Being a manager means working with others that you might not always agree with. It’s good to find common ground and stay positive! Q: Where can I suggest? A: The promotion Studio! https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/34888031/ Q: How do you become someone that can be suggested? A: Sign up in the new promotions studio! Please only sign up if you understand all the challenges and responsibilities managing comes with. Q: How long do the promotions take? A: The time varies- usually around a month suggestions are opened, and then in a couple weeks someone will be promoted. Q: Who decides? A: The managers make the final decision- however, the curators do get a big say! That's why we prefer people to say who they suggest and WHY. If you have something positive to say about someone, say it! Every suggestion counts! Q: Can anyone be a manager? A: Almost anyone- you have to be a member of GWDFI, of course, but it's preferred you have been a part of it for long enough that you know lots of active members and you know how everything works. Along with that, you have to make sure you've read all the rules. Q: How does manager voting work? A: The managers start looking out long before curators suggest curators. We take note of helpful curators all the time! Then, after suggestions open, and the manager will scan through suggestions, they see through their own research and what curators say to make a final decision. Q: Can I suggest myself? A: No, please only suggest others. No alt accounts! Q: Can I advertise/ask people to vote for me? A: No. You can state qualities when signing yourself up, but please be fair. You may also make a project, if you wish, but stay positive and don’t bring down others in the process. Q: is it okay to say "Did anyone think of suggesting me?" or something similar? A: There is no rule against it, but please try not to use that to gain more votes. Q: can multiple people be promoted? A: Most of the time, yes!! ꧁ credits for questions ꧂ - - - - - -the managers! ⚠️ If you still have a question, please ask it below! ⚠️ Promotions are now open, so get suggesting!!
