Name: Snowfluff Gender: Male Favorite Food: Hot soup Favorite Drink: Snow Milk Backstory: Once, Snowfluff and his parents followed a team of sled huskies out into the snow, treading lightly. With a mighty gust, the wind blew snow from many trees and made everyone tremble with fright. This was going to be Snowfluff’s first mission as a mailman and he didn’t want to mess up. In the distance, they could spot a warm, cozy log cabin. Upon arriving, they all rushed inside and huddled by the fireplace. The lead husky, a grey dog with yellow ear tips, face markings and a bushy tail, Jambutter gathered everyone around to listen to what he had to say. “Alright, comrades, listen up,” He turned to Snowfluff’s parents, adding “I know your son is desperately in need of a job and that is why we have all agreed to meet here.” Snowfluff jumped up, his tail whisking with eagerness. “I will assign him an easy task at first, but he must work his way to the top. For now, I will accompany him with two helpers.” He pointed towards a shabby green stuffed bear and a pinkish red panda. “Kumarumi and Violet will accompany you on your first task, which is to return stolen candy to the orphanage.” He hopped with glee once more, stopping to breathe. Finally, this would be his first assignment. Nothing could go wrong. The journey was easy at first, despite the three often needing to stop for snacks and goodies. They often found themselves parched for drinks that seemed, in this area, nonexistent. They stumbled upon a kombucha store and bought some drinks for the road, trying to drink as little as possible so they could save some for later. They came upon a petite, peculiar cave, spotting thieves inside. While they’d been sleeping, Snowfluff retrieved the stolen candy, playing it in his hat. The three of them then quickly ran away. Next, they met with an icy polar bear that chased them into a freezing, icy lake, stopping when they fell in. The orphanage wasn’t far from where they were, but the map they’d used to navigate directions was now soaked. Luckily, Snowfluff’s head jewel could also indicate a clear path. It lead them north, towards the orphanage. He held the stolen candy in his hat, paddling with fury through the thick, agonizing, wet water. When the three made it out, their paws were extra slippery and they zoomed quickly down a slope, heading straight there. They were met with a friendly pug who accepted the stolen candy and returned it safely. “All that for some candy? My, my, you must be exhausted! And look at your clothes, so drenched and such a burden to bear! Come and have a rest inside, my dearies, while I wash your clothes for you!” She beckoned for them all to come inside. Snowfluff saw what looked to be his long lost baby brother inside, surrounded by other infants of all species, shapes and sizes. The room was dark, but a white light shined on him, his head jewel also glittering. The two shimmered in synch, until the pug lady switched the light on. “My, oh my! He looks just like you!” He did, indeed, share all of Snowfluff’s features. They then suddenly both realized how they’d been separated, with a flashback of them trotting in the snow together came back. He had fell into a snowstorm and had never been seen again. They were both so young, it was difficult to remember. Snowfluff called his parents using the phone at the orphanage, telling them to come and pick up his baby brother. The pug lady then gave them both fresh clothes and dried the old ones to take back as well. Kumarumi and Violet followed them all home as they shouted with glee. The husky dogs were glad to see them all okay, and laid out fresh blankets for them in the cottage. The next day, Snowfluff would be assigned a harder mission. The next day, indeed, had been more difficult, but everything was better knowing that his long lost baby brother was safe in the cottage with his parents. He had been tasked to deliver mail to many people alone, and even with a new map, everything had been a chore to track down. His head jewel had run out and he was exhausted, there were no drinks left from yesterday. This time, he was all alone. He skidded through the snow with a hint of tired yet flamboyant eagerness. Tripping over a log, he stumbled down a hill, straight into the last place to deliver mail to, a large factory that made toys. He helped Santa and his elves work on all kinds of toys and at the end, before he walked off, Santa told Snowfluff a secret. He exclaimed that he used to live through a caring and humble person that once delivered gifts to friends, family and strangers, but after he died, his spirit became a legend as it sprinkled kindness over everyone. Now, he creates toys to ship to kids in need and to fill toy stores, but he rarely delivers gifts directly to people’s homes, as it would be impossible to deliver a gift to every single home in one night. Instead, the Christmas spirit of giving, family, friends and kindness is distributed—
(Sorry that it’s so long lol, I’ll continue it down here) —throughout the town. Gasp! Was it really true? Was Santa really a ghost? Or just a living spirit? But, he was gone. With a whisp of joy, he disappeared to deliver the gifts by hand to nursing homes and toy stores, with help from the elves. By the time he returned back to the cottage that his parents and the huskies were in, he found one last gift. It was a sparkling book from Santa, full of promises, joy and pictures of smiling families that had been saved from homelessness and had much to be grateful for. And now, Snowfluff was also grateful. For his little brother, his parents, his friends, family and his new job delivering happiness and joy wherever he went.
