Chapter One : Earth Strikes Skylar walks down a beaten dirt path from school, a different route than she usually takes. She thought she was going home at first, but she decided to lean towards a different plan. Kids at her school had been mentioning a dig site that paleontologists were working at to find dinosaur bones. They had already found 20, and it was a good idea to check it out, apparently. She had thought about doing that. She walked towards the bike rack by the nearby park, and unlatched a chain from a random bike and hopped on. She knew that stealing was illegal, but at this point she wanted to take risks. Her mother and her father were divorced, her brother died in a car accident, she was the only one left. She didn't have anything meaningful to do anyways... so why not just get in trouble? HOLD UP, wait... this is a really bad influence on younger kids! Let's start off with a new story. Skylar did walk from school on to the dirt path, but she went to a mountain site instead. She didn't want to get in trouble, she just wanted to find something to buy her some time to see the Northern Lights. Up in Minnesota, where she was, she enjoyed watching them. Her brother was still alive, just broke his ankle from falling on his skateboard. Her parents were still together, but fought a little bit. So, things are a little easier on her now, I guess. She took her bike off from the rack at the park, and started biking up a concrete path towards the mountain site. She was planning on climbing a bit, seeing if she could find any cool stones to keep in her collection. She was thinking no one else would be there... KEEP READING TO NEXT CHAPTER!
