For Shadow's attacks he uses a minigun and a katana in order to switch between the two you press space. Lore I guess? Shadow was just a shadow living in the shadow realm then Shadow accidentally shadow shift into the middle of S.C.E.A headquarters and got captured and is now relentlessly trying to get out destroying everything in its way.
