The Golden Prophecy - Chapter 1 - Goldenpaw blinked his eyes open to see sunlight leaking through the Apprentice's Den. It was morning, and that meant the dawn patrol would be leaving soon. He drowsily got up and stretched, and as he padded to the den mouth, a red tom with amber eyes stopped him. "Where are you going, rouge!" He snickered. "Not funny, Applepaw." Goldenpaw growled. Ever since LakeClan found him, Applepaw was there everywhere he went, bullying him. His friend, Leafpaw came and joined in. She was a white she-cat splotched with hazel, and she had blazing fire colored eyes, that glared at him. "Stay away from him, Applepaw. He might pass on that rouge disease!" She joked. "Hey! That's not nice." Gingerpaw, a ginger tabby with white paws hissed. She was Goldenpaw's best friend. She looked at him with warmth in her vast blue eyes, and stared at Applepaw and Leafpaw angrily. "Let's go see our mentors" Gingerpaw smiled, ignoring Applepaw's retort. They padded past Riverstone, a large stone surrounded by a small puddle, where Reefstar would address the clan. "And we should also let them practice swimming today." Said Goldenpaw's mentor as he came into earshot. Pinefur, a ginger tom with green eyes. "Ah, Goldenpaw, there you are! You and Gingerpaw will be swimming today." He meowed when he saw him. Goldenpaw nodded, getting excited. When he first came to the clan, as a young kit, he was afraid of water, but he slowly got used to the feeling of wet paws. "Yes, and after that I'm taking Gingerpaw and Applepaw hunting, would you like to join us?" Mosscloud, Gingerpaw's mentor meowed. She was a pretty, long-furred gray she-cat with a white muzzle and orange eyes. "Okay!.." Goldenpaw hesitated, knowing Applepaw would be at his tail the whole time.
