~Chapter 1: The New Hawkins?~ It was a bright sunny day in Hawkins, or was it? Ok it actually was for once. Starcourt Mall was rebuilt, or more specifically, everything was rebuilt. After Vecna had attacked, there was an earthquake, 4 big gates that lead to the Upside Down had traveled from the edge of town, to the center, destroying most of the houses and buildings. Still, nobody knew what had happened and they still don’t have a clue. Slowly, after a while, the gates disappeared. They left big black marks, but at least they are gone. I hoped that everything stayed fixed, because fighting monsters is exhausting. “El! Eleven!” Mike yelled from downstairs. Mike was Eleven’s boyfriend and had been for 3 - 4 years. “Yes?” She replied, smiling down at her boyfriend. “Are you packed up? We are moving.” He walked up the stairs to her. “I have packed, yes. Where are we moving to?” Mike kissed her forehead softly and said, “We are moving to Jericho, in New Jersey. It’s not as far away as California.” Eleven looked up at him and without any signal, she hugged him, “At least we are both going.” “Oh, you two love birds, get your bags and put them in the car. We are leaving soon.” Nancy smiled. “Ok, MoM.” Mike joked, took Eleven’s hand and went up stairs. “Kids-”. “Hey Nancy,” Jonathan smiled. “Hi babe,” She replied back and kissed his cheek. “Ready to go?” He asked. “Yup. You?” He nodded swiftly, took her hand, just like Mike took Eleven’s and the two of them went outside. “This is Dustin, do you copy?” Dustin said, into his new walkie talkie. “This is Mike, I copy.” Mike replied. “Is everybody moving to Jericho?” He asked. “Well, if by everybody you mean our general group of friends and family, then yes.” Mike looked at Eleven and she smiled at him. “Great! I guess we will see each other in Jericho!” Dustin turned off his walkie talkie and started packing. “I can’t believe we are actually moving, after living here my whole life and after what we’ve been through, it’s crazy.” Lucas, Max, and Will were all packing together. “This is it guys. We are leaving Hawkins.” Max sighed. “For good this time,” Will replied. “This is crazy, am I the only one who will miss fighting monsters?” Lucas chimed in. “You’re not the only one.” Will and Max said at the same time. Lucas held up his “Hellfire Club” shirt, he almost started crying. “Lucas? Are you ok? Max asked. “Not really, I feel like I let Eddie down,” “You didn’t let him down, if basketball is what you want to do, then that’s your choice not his.” “If I had known that he was going to die, I would have completely forgotten about basketball and joined the campaign. I'm gonna miss playing with him.” Max looked at him and sighed, “There are other guys like Eddie ya know.” He swallowed, “Max, it’s not the same.” “I regret not saving Billy, you regret not playing with Eddie. I know what it's like.” * * * Joyce, Hopper, Karen, Ted, Claudia, Murray, Dustin, Steve, Robin, Lucas, Max, Will, Jonathan, Nancy, Mike, Eleven, Erica, and Argyle. They were all moving to Jericho, New Jersey. Everybody got to the airport in time. “I can’t believe this is actually happening.” Dustin smiled. They waited about half an hour in the waiting area, and half an hour in the plane. This ride was about 2 hours long and it was pretty much peaceful overall. This was gonna be a whole new adventure, of fighting monsters, with so many more outcasts. They arrived at noon on Saturday, June 16. They took 2 rented vans to their rented homes. “Alright, Dustin, Mike, Max, Eleven, especially you. Lucas, Will, and Erica. You guys are going to a school called Nevermore Academy.” Joyce smiled. “That sounds… slightly creepy-” Mike said. “Robin and I got a job at Weathervane Coffee. I mean not much has changed, except the place we live.” Steve said. “Yes, this place is better, it's just like Hawkins- but better. Emphasis on the ‘better’” Murray said. “I’m just gonna miss fighting monsters, ya know?” Dustin said. “I am too, but maybe it’s time for a break.” Eleven looked up. None of the kids had expected to live such a crazy life. Like, tell me about more kids who fight monsters on a daily basis. These kids are brave, they risked their lives to save others. People see them as outcasts, but nobody knows that the reason they are still alive is because of these kids. Think about it, if these kids hadn’t scooched their butts into this mess, Hawkins would be in a way bigger mess.
