Capacity : 630 Kg 8 Persons. Doors : Fermator. Buttons : DMG. Logic : OTIS Gen2 microprocessor logic controller. Type : MRL traction. Location : Kristoffersen Shopping center, Kristinad, Sweden. Other : This one is a rare, but super cheap and quite a bit worn OTIS Gen2 lift. It’s actually an early Genesis as according to Beno, OTIS Genesis were launched in 2008 and they are the cheapest version of a Gen2 and as Ben says « It’s a little lift so cheap, it should not be installed anywhere ! », that’s quite a bit right because this one is very flimsy and the Gen2 motor sounds worn because it makes a « Gen2 airplane sound ». Also, it has brought in fixtures (Except from the OTIS arrows on the door edges but the dot-matrix indicator is generic and it has DMG buttons) and brought in doors (Fermator). But despite the worn-sounding motor and the very bad built quality, the logic actually works very well, it levels very quickly (It only takes 2.1 seconds to level, so the levelling is fully intelligent), has pre-doors and the accelerations and decelerations are good. Also, it runs very smooth for a chassisless lift. This one is working just fine despite that it’s heavily used for over 14 years and being very flimsy ! Unfortunately, it is now being replaced with a Harrington/ Sodimas bottom-driven MRL lift which are even flimsier than this very cheap Gen2 which is in a good condition apart from the motor which starts to wear ! But, it works a lot more efficiently than most Sodimas/Harrington as their intelligent levelling system is often badly set-up and most of them haven’t pre-doors and a lot of annoying delays. The VFD of the new Sodimas is also from Frenic and they seems to be cheaper and flimsier than OTIS, Schindler, KONE, TK, ABB, Vacon, Omron/Yaskawa and even Magnetek VF drives. But anyways, this cheap Gen2 is pretty good !
