Little backstory from the wiki :D) And I made Mariah smug- no idea why tho lol) ~~~ Mariah's father was a farmer. He was extremely bright but very stubborn. After they took him they struggled like other families but people kept calling him a traitor even after he was gone. --- Mariah, Karin, Gregor and Anatoly's village went mad from starvation after the rationing got extreme. Parents were sending their children to orphanages instead of starving at home. It was terrible. Eventually they decided that they needed to escape. So they stole supplies until they had enough for the journey. To keep their spirits up, Gregor described it as a 'vacation'.
