I quickly sat in the car, my whole body still half in shock from everything. Celeste looked me up and down, like she was inspecting me. "You seem to have found a potential suitor." She said, with a smirk. "What?" "A suitor. Someone you will marry." "I'm sorry. How... why do you think that." "You are obviously blushing and clearly discomposed. Your hair is also messy, and you have a mark on your neck. A 'h!ck3y' or whatever you would like to call it." she stated cooly. My face flushed a even brighter red, and to make situations worse, Nick decided to call just at that moment. "Hi, Nick." I said, as casually as I could. Celeste shot me a de@th stare. "Hey." "I will... call you back. Thanks. Bye." I finished quickly as I hung up. "His name is Nick?" Celeste interrogated. I gave her no answer. The drive went on for what felt like hours because of 'light construction' on the roads. Celeste continued to stare at me, and my face still did not return from its bright color until I got home. I guess home is what I will call it now. A home with barely any family, although. Is it really a home then? "We have a visitor. She is the Queens friend and wishes to meet you." A guard said as I rushed down the stairs. I was running late today, a hour behind my usual schedule. The woman was let into the house, her red heels clacking along the floor. She had perfectly set blonde hair, with the brightest red lipstick I have ever seen. Her black knee-length dress was accompanied with shimmering gold jewelry. "Arya. It is so nice to see you!" She exclaimed, looking at me up and down. "I'm Marcia. Marcia Anne." She added on, with a outstretched arm for me to shake. "Okay. I have much to tell you, but in private. May we please be excused?" Marica said as she took my hand. My uncle nodded, and we were off down the halls to a room I had no knowledge of, followed by a security guard. This room had dark green walls, and books stacked on shelves all over the room, barley leaving room for a fireplace. Near the fireplace was a large sofa, which both me and Marica sat on. "As you know, I am a friend of Analise. Me and your mother were quite close, actually." "Really?" "Yes. The Queen and me are close, but me and her were closer." She said, with a wistful smile. "She was such a nice woman. I spent almost every moment of my life with her, up until a few weeks before she died." "Why?" I responded quickly, instantly becoming more interested. "She was going to leave. From the Rose house all the way to America. She was pr3gnant with you, and knew her parent would be infuriated if they heard anything about it." "Okay." "And we argued. And she was a different person, Arya. She... hurt me. She h!t me and shouted, gr-bbed me. And that wasn't the first time. We argued a lot, after that, actually. Each h!t was harder then the next. She wasn't the person people said she was." "Are you trying to tell me she i- was a bad person?" I replied, my temper rising just slightly. "I mean, no. She just- I don't know. I don't mean to hurt you." Marcia said, stuttering. "You came all the way here to tell me the mother I never had was a horrible person? To get some satisfaction?" I screamed. "No! That's not what I meant to say." "I h you. Leave. Now." I continued to shout, crying now. My face was burning and I was screaming and books were falling to the floor and I was running away, out of the house and to somewhere I didn't know yet, until my legs got sore and I couldn't breathe. I walked as far as I could from Rose house, and walked the direction of my drive to school. I got there, maybe a hour later than I would, but I was still there nonetheless. I walked into the building, half-aware that I probably looked like a dump. This was confirmed by the various looks I got walking down the hallway. I just had to walk down the hallway and look for Nick, and he would tell me where class is and everything will be okay. "Arya?" "Hi." "Oh. Hello. Your face is um..." "Yeah. I know." He gave a soft nod and walked into the lecture hall. I wiped my face with the back of my sweater, leaving smudges of black and pink on the sleeves. Everything was going just great today.
