ok here we are. book 1, the dragonet prophecy. ok well i mostly remember what happened in this book so... Clay is a mudwing and is trapped under i think it was claws of the clouds mountain? idk, anyway he is being kept there by sandwing parental figure dune, seawing parental figure webs, and skywing parental figure kestrel. clay does battle training with kestrel, and kestrel beats him up. tsunami (seawing, bossy, loves water) yells at kestrel and bites her tail, which makes kestrel very angry but we dont care about her. Tsunami throws clay into cold, underground river. uh what happens after that... uh oh yea we meet sunny (sandwing, deformed for definetley not obvious reasons, small), starflight (nightwing, loves scrolls, smart boi), and glory (rainwing, studies harder than everyone but starflight, isnt actually lazy like other rainwings) these are clay's friends. the dragonets are told to go study for an ENTIRE HOUR?! (dude honestly who does that... not me) so instead they act it out because its a harmless, fun, smart way to study but the fake parents (especially kestrel) get mad at them for not (insert british accent) "properly" studying. so they go to bed, but the children hear kestrel, webs, and dune raising their voices like really really loud and making it very obvious they are hiding something. so tsunami and clay go through a secret place to eavesdrop because thats the only life skill they have gained under the mountain. they hear some guy is coming but we probably dont care about him... WRONG he's here and he's big and mysterious and here to judge the children. the children line up. mysterious guy studies them very carefully. tsunami gets edgy and mouths stuff to the mysterious guy about how they've been treated. mysterious guy doesnt care and somehow the children end up fighting the mysterious guy? anyway after that glory gets abused for living again and clay and tsunami get approval and sunny is told maybe and starflight is taken to another room for a 'private conversation'. oh also did i mention the children are under the mountain because they have to stop a war because everybody listens to children obviously. after the mysterious guy leaves, clay and tsunami hear that the fake parents need to kill glory so they go back and tell sunny, starflight, and glory. glory says she can handle it but everybody else tells her she needs to be saved by them. then fake parents come and chain up tsunami (who is the only one who can breathe underwater) and then the children get angry at the fake parents. so clay must hold his breath FOR AN ENTIRE HOUR?! because oh yea mudwings can do that. so he swims for and hour and finds air, but tsunami catches up to her because she escaped. they fly away and find a SCAVENGER OMG. they take its treasure but a grumpy red dragon (who is a skywing) bullies them and beats them up, but tsunami beats her up. (oh yea forgot to mention shes the skywing queen) they fly away and save their friends, but the bully finds them and kills their sandwing parental figure and sunny cries. they capture the children and the skywing parental figure and the children and seawing parent escapes. at the sky kingdom they are forced to fight to death a lot but we are skipping that part because its long and boring. oh but there's peril and peril give clay mud. and clay feels better and then sometime after starflight is taken by mysterious guy and the other children have to escape with peril. only peril LOVES clay and betrays him so she can still see him. then clay gets mad or does he idk and idc. oh yea forgot to mention skywing parent is actually peril's mother so that happened and then peril did shield thingy to save her mom and now she has to fight her love interest and that happens and then somehow peril, the children, and the skywing parental figure all escape but peril has to go back and skywing parental figure leaves them to die and then the children start yelling at each other about being drugged or being asleep idk. so then they decide to go find clay's family. they find clay's mother and who knows where clay's father is. so they learn that clay's mom doesnt care for him and sold him for a cow. clay is sad but then they find his 15 billion siblings so yay hes happy now but then he finds one of them died in battle and the story ends.
Rating: i'd say like a 6/10 overall. it was a good start to the series and was a good book to read but the ending escape part got a little more interesting so i'd give that part a 7.5/10? yea pretty good book Tap/click on the project to see clay art (not by me)
