About Hanukkah ➳ Hanukkah (also spelled Chanukah) celebrates the Festival of Lights. Long ago Judah Maccabee led his army to fight for their temple in Jerusalem. They only had enough oil for their lamp to last one night though. Then (as they say) a great miracle happened! The oil lasted for 8 nights, and so we celebrate with a menorah, a candle holder, on Hanukkah each year. ➳ The menorah has nine holders, and the ninth is for the shamash, the center candle lit each night which is used to light all the other ones. Each night another candle is lit, until the eighth when you have all eight! How To Play With A Dreidel ➳Each person takes turns spinning the dreidel, and when it lands a letter is showing. Each letter means you take or put in a certain amount of chocolate coins, or gelt. ➳ There are 4 letters: נ (nun) which means you put none in and get none, ה (hay) which means you get half of the coins in the middle, ש (shin) which means you put one in, and ג (gimel) which means you get all of the coins, and win. (An easy way to remember these is nun, you get none, hay is half, shin put one in, and gimle, gimme all) I hope you all enjoy this game, and if I’m wrong about any of it please correct me. (I don’t quite remember everything!) Credits ➳ All art and code is by me. ➳ Music: A New Light by Ben McElroy and Ages Ago by Brock Hewitt lol this is so badd im sryy
