Mandy Porter, a 14-year-old, was walking down the street at night at 9:30 p.m. to her friend's house, which was located in the middle of nowhere. To Mandy, this seemed a bit weird, because 1- It was really, really dark and 2- Clarrissa, as she knew, would never call her this late. Not sure where she was heading in the darkness, she took out her phone, which had a picture of her and Clarrissa Bureau. Even though they had been close friends for a long time, Mandy could not help but feel a pang of jealousy when her friend was called beautiful, or complimented for her beauty. Mandy couldn't call herself better in smarts, because Clarrissa was really, really smart, like as an all-time A scorer, which also made Mandy jealous. But Clarrissa was too much of a great, loyal friend, and a comedian, which made it almost impossible for Mandy to hate her. Mandy opened Google Maps on her phone and searched for the address Clarrissa sent her. Clarrissa had recently moved with her parents to a different area that Mandy had never been to, so Clarrissa had invited her to eat dinner, explore and get used to the house, and sleep over, which they had never, ever done before, and excitedly, Mandy agreed. With a few turns to the right and a few turns to the left, Mandy stood in front of a large, modern, house that was yellow, which gave vibrant and welcoming vibes. "So, this is Clarrissa's new house. Nice!" thought Mandy to herself. Mandy walked to the large porch of the house which had a swing and potted flowers, and rang the doorbell. Unlike the regular ding-dong, Clarrissa's bell rang ding ding ding ding ding ding dong..... - for about 30 seconds. About a minute later, Clarrissa opened the door hesitantly. In shock, she looked at Mandy. "Mandy? Why are you here?" Mandy became surprised at her friend's reaction. " Clarrissa, you don't remember? You sent me a message inviting me, right? Wait, one minute, let me get it." But Mandy's face fell when she saw there was no message. What had she seen then? Where was the message she had checked 2 minutes ago? They both shared confused, scared glances at each other. After some time, Clarrissa said, "You're here, anyway. Stay the night. You can't go walking around at 10:00 p.m. and my parents have left, so they can't drop you off." Mandy thought about it. She should have left, but where can a 15-year-old be safe roaming around at 10:00 p.m. alone? "Ok. Not like I have another choice." she said and got inside. It was bright and beautiful inside Clarrissa's home. Both Mandy and Clarrissa had a great time playing, eating, watching tv, etc.. Finally, when they decided to sleep, Mandy felt a sharp pain rise in her head. It was unbearable, and she fainted on the ground. A few minutes later, or what seemed like a few minutes later, Mandy woke up, breathing heavily, and saw she was in a pitch, jet black room in which not a single thing could be seen. Suddenly, a door opened and a creature creeped out of it. The creature, or monster, had large, red eyes that read 'evil', sharp fangs that could kill a lion in a second, claws as sharp as knives, and green, slimy skin that made it resemble a creepy caterpillar. She started running behind, but she soon bumped into a wall hard. She would have taken time to care for it, but the monster was coming closer and closer. Out of the blue, unexpectedly, she saw a dagger. It didn't look like an ordinary dagger - it had the devils sign formed by etched snakes in red, in a twisted, weird way. She then heard a mesmerizing, soft, yet cold voice. "Take the dagger" She did so, not thinking about anything. The monster, which she had almost ignored, was about only a foot's distance from her. The same voice which had told her to take her the dagger now told her something else: "Kill the monster" This didn't seem like a cruel thing - it seemed like a thing every single person would do if they were going to be devoured. "Here goes" she thought to herself and stabbed the monster until it fell to the floor, dead. She then closed her eyes in relief and fell, as in a trance. When she got up in the warm, happy house she was in a few minutes ago, she was shocked, scared, and anguished to see her best friend, Clarrissa, lying limp on the floor in a pool of blood and the dagger (The one Mandy had) stabbed in her chest. "No. No." cried Mandy over her friend's body. Not wanting to be there when Mandy's parents came, she ran home (Even though it was 11 o’clock at midnight, because she would rather be in the streets than in a large home with a dead body.), sobbing and crying. After Mandy was gone, the dagger in Clarrissa's chest took itself out and disappeared, as though someone invisible had taken it.
