The winter solstice is December 21st and it is the shortest day of the year. I thought that we should celebrate. The winter solstice is only for the Northern Hemisphere. On December 21st it is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The spring and fall solstices are on March 20th and September 20th and on those days, the sun is up for the same amount of time that it's down. The summer solstice is on June 21st and is the longest day of the year. It is the winter solstice in the Southern Hemishpere, the shortest day of the year.
Thanks to my ELA teacher for giving me inspiration.
