ok we are back. the children are on the beach arguing as usual. Tsunami is angry about not being respected as leader but i can't remember them ever establishing one... so.... anyway Starflight is back by the way and all of the sudden he's paranoid. they see a skywing patrol or something coming toward them so they all hide. when the patrol leaves there is one skywing left so Tsunami breaks the 5th commandment. her friends get mad at her for k!lling the skywing and they all start arguing again except for Clay who just wants food. i forget how long they travel before this but one night Tsunami sneaks into the ocean while everyone is sleeping. so she's swimming and she finds a random seawing. she decides to stalk him so she follows him to a cave thingy in the water. another seawing comes out of the cave and they do a ritual. then the first seawing swims off and Tsunami decides to keep stalking him. but then she changes her mind and decides to talk to him. she OBVIOUSLY points to the surface and instead the seawing decides to flash his scales at her. so she flashes her back. he looks at her confused and Tsunami goes to the surface with the other seawing. the other seawing says "dude what the heck why did you say that to me" because apparently Tsunami said something COMPLETELY different by saying the SAME thing. wow ok. then clay somehow finds them---oh by the way its somehow day already (in the graphic novel)---and attacks him. somehow everyone else gets involved so they take the seawing back for intense questioning. they find out his name is Riptide and now Tsunami likes him even tho she met him like 5 seconds ago but who cares. so they demand he take them to the above water palace because they are the dragonets of destiny. so Riptide takes them there and then Shark--the queen's brother--tries to kill them but Tsunami proves she's the lost seawing heir. so they go to the palace and they meet the seawing queen, Queen Coral. and Queen Coral decides the children can go to a random cave while Tsunami stays with her MoThEr or yea forgot to mention that. whatever anyway so somehow Tsunami is perfectly fine with leaving them even though she's their "leader". so Tsunami talks to her mother about scrolls and stories and her sister she didnt know about who is Anemone and then Coral introduces her into Whirlpool who is basically a slug as a seawing but whatever. so i kinda forgot what order this happens in but basically there is a council meal or something and Tsunami is told her friends can't come because blah blah blah and then the council talks about boring politics and then Coral asks if she saw a seawing named Gill in the arena. and Tsunami remembers snapping his neck in order to survive and is horrified that she had to do that but she asks if he was an important general. and Coral says "aww heck no he's my husband" and then she says "Tsunami he was your father" and then Tsunami goes into depression as she realizes she had been forced to kill her own father but of course she doesn't tell her mom that because yea... anyway Whirlpool decides that this is a GREAT time for an Aquatic lesson--oh yea i never mentioned the underwater language--so she goes knowing it wont be fun but it will be distracting from her depression. so after reciting books underwater Tsunami is mad because she didn't learn anything so she storms out and goes outside the palace to be alone. she finds Riptide who teaches her actual Aquatic and then she realizes that Shark said that he would kill her friends later so she rushes back to the palace and tries to get to her friends but someone tries to kill her on the way so she runs to Coral and shouts "SoMeOnE tRiEd To K!LL mE!" but her mother is too busy with Anemone so she doesn't notice until like 5 hours later but then instead of worrying about her alive daughter almost getting killed she freaked out about her eggs in the royal hatchery at the underwater palace and so she rushes there and Tsunami follows. when they get there one of the female seawing eggs due to hatch the next day is destroyed and goes into an emo phase and rips out this one person's teeth before killing them because they failed their job apparently. then Tsunami grabs the remaining egg and says "i will protect" using the real Aquatic that Riptide taught her. Coral tells her that if she fails she will lose two more daughters so she's basically threatening to kill her own daughter after being so mad that one of them died. this makes sense. she then finds out that her friends have been treated like prisoners and have been trapped in a flooding cave about to drown. so Tsunami finally gets back to her friends and tells them about everything that happened. Tsunami saves them and then they discuss suspects for egg k!lling. then Tsunami goes and yells at people for not treating her friends well and gets her friends food. so then some things happen and then Blister shows up and tells them how overrated skywings are.
(desc too long continued here) then Tsunami finds out that a statue was k!lling eggs because it was enchanted by the queen's former daughter who went to hogwarts and didn't tell her mother. then the baby Tsunami was protecting hatches and Tsunami names her Auklet. then Blister tells Coral that they should lock up the children so Coral does. then Anemone comes to save them because she also went to hogwarts and uses magic to find the person who tried to k!ll Tsunami earlier which has nothing to do with helping them escape. they find out that Whirlpool tried to k!ll Tsunami because he didn't want to marry her? then Anemone accidentally kills Whirlpool and then helps free the children and they save OMG ITS WEBS!!! and his son RiPtIdE?!??!! but the palace is under attack by skywings and a random mudwing tries to k!ll the children by betraying a peace organization so Glory uses magical death spit on the mudwing's face. they escape but Blister manages to stab Webs' tail with her scorpion barb but they keep flying away to get to land. when they get to land, they decide to go to the rainforest kingdom to cure Webs' poison and find Glory's family. they rest and then the book ends after an epilogue that i am not going over. so overall i'd give this book an 8/10. it was a good book that had a lot of suspense and i enjoyed reading from Tsunami's perspective. :) (click/tap the project so see Tsunami pics)
