"So I guess you guys are looking for this artifact, huh? (holds up some kinda macguffin) Well, you'll have to get through me first!" "...So it's come to this, I guess. Never thought (some cataclysmic plot point) would happen, but... you two (assuming the party is split) look like you might need some help down here. So... how 'bout a temporary truce?"
