Tanzanite (AKA Zani) was a simple wolf-dog. He lived a cozy life in the countryside with his owner when he was alive. Both in life and death he was/is free-spirited, protective, and very loyal. His owner, Mary, was a jeweler. When Zani had gotten old and grey, Mary made a miniature replica of him made out of tanzanite crystals to keep his memory forever. When Zani had died and Mary had children, he attached himself to the replica which was then passed down through the family line. After a few generations, Zani was put into the hands of Mary’s great granddaughter, Chloe. Chloe, like Mary, had an affinity for jewelry and gemstones, so Zani fit right in with her other shiny stones and colorful crystals. He loved Chloe as much as he loved Mary. Chloe knew something was different about Zani, though. Not at first, but she found out when local burglars disappeared after breaking into her house. It was nighttime and Zani was vibing, when suddenly he heard something at the door. Before he knew what was happening, a couple shady figures had picked the doors lock and snuck in. Zani was afraid for Chloe’s safety, but he also knew how much her gemstones mattered to her. The thought of Chloe getting hurt physically and/or emotionally filled him with rage. The strong emotion made him a stronger force, he unintentionally pushed himself off of his shelf, the glue between his crystals was very old so he fell apart as soon as he hit the floor. The sudden sound startled the thieves. The burglars backed towards the door, but as soon as they became a threat to Chloe, they were already dead. Zani lifted the pieces of his crystalline body, they weaved around his spectral form like armor as he lunged at the burglars. When the deed was done, Zani had placed himself back on his shelf, holding his pieces together to appear how he did before breaking. When Chloe had woke, the only evidence of the crime was her unlocked door and Zani having been moved slightly.
