It is recommended you read everything below ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ////////// Update (12/24/2022) ////////// A bug has been fixed for the official engine in JSaB In Through the Depths where the player just snaps from one direction and repeatedly attempts to rotate to another. The patch won't be issued to this engine as it's not very popular and people won't be notified. ////////// Instructions ////////// - Arrow keys or WASD to move - Space to dash - The longer you hold the spacebar, the further and longer you dash ////////// Updates (to the engine upon sharing) ////////// - The player now turns to certain directions based on the current direction (I'm bad at explaining so just move around with the previous engine and compare it to this one) - The player now gets a white outline when dashing - The player's trail now explodes when dashing - The player is smaller and the hitbox is more forgiving - Fixed a bug where the dash effect still appears if you're standing still - (Noticing a pattern with the updates?) Fixed a bug where the dash sends you in the direction you are currently pointing when standing still - Trail particles now lag you less, are in smaller quantities, and dissipate quicker - And the player's movement speed increases when the size does (in case I make some more size modifications) ////////// Side Notes ////////// 1 - This WILL be used for In Through the Depths. Speaking of which, I am yet again saying it's almost done. I just have to finish one more level and it's complete, other than some minor changes and bug checks. I plan to give levels and cutscenes their own loading screen instead of forcing the player to wait 5 minutes for the game to finally load after throwing a second loading screen at you (the first is the scratch "loading assets" screen). 2 - I might make the handling (directional turning) a little quicker to match up with the movement. ////////// Tags (you don't need to read this) ////////// #JSaB #Just-Shapes-and-Beats #Games
