[ Continued from here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/778204481/ ] If things get bad enough for him to start wondering if an injury or sickness really can be healed, it’s likely for his patients to pick up on that and lose hope as well. His emotional trait may also make him seem more genuine or honest, however, due to not attempting to hide any of his emotions, which may help his patients trust him more if he becomes a medicine cat. 〈Traditional〉Buttercupkit tends to have a view on life that leaves little room for change. If things are already working fine, he sees it as better to continue with systems, methods, and ideas that are already in place rather than risk making it worse by changing things. According to his personality description (which I wrote and am just pasting here), “If life is already going fairly well— even if things aren’t perfect— he sees no reason to change it. When change does inevitably happen, he tends to try to go back to how it was before, and it takes him longer to accept that life might be a bit different.… He would much prefer to do what has been done by many before him that are familiar by many.” His reluctance towards change may help him get into steady, effective routines— attending ceremonies, collecting herbs, organizing herbs, treating patients, et cetera. However, his traditional view is more often a disadvantage— if a new herb is must be tried to heal something that hasn’t been healing with regular herbs, he’d be reluctant to risk trying it, thinking that maybe they should just try another combination of familiar herbs instead. Medicine cats sometimes must embrace change, which Buttercupkit would find difficult. 〈Passionate〉Buttercupkit is passionate. As quoted from his personality description, “ He feels very strongly about his views, but is rather reluctant to speak of them if he thinks those he tells won’t agree. When he does manage to defend his views, his way of doing this often involves a calm, slightly nervous, but unwavering explanation of his views and why he believes in them. It is difficult to change his mind on this sort of thing without a good reason, whether he admits that he is not convinced to you or not.” This passion could be helpful to him as a medicine cat. He would be passionate about healing and taking the role of a medicine cat, and also about his views on StarClan (he has not developed these beliefs yet, but he’d agree with the traditional view of StarClan, like what’s found in the canon books). His passion would make him very devoted to serving his ancestors and his clan. Additionally, if he is convinced enough that the way he believes someone must be healed is true, he would be unlikely to change his mind, and would go forward with his plan however he could. This would be balanced with his submissiveness, making it difficult to find a way forward, but would likely eventually find 〈Passive〉 〈Quiet〉 〈Sentimental〉 〈Indecisive〉 〈Clingy〉 〈Submissive〉 〈Timid〉 〈Shortsighted〉 〈Forgetful〉 〈Unconfident〉His lack of confidence could easily lead to his patients being unsure of his credibility— with such an important role, it wouldn’t be hard for his lack of confidence to rub off on those he cares for as they worry that he might not actually know what he’s doing. 〈Dependent〉 [ I’ve decided to prioritize some of the other sections as I’m beginning to lose time, but I’ll come back to this if I have time. I also haven’t gotten to analyzing why specific traits might make him want the role yet. ] [ Unfinished ] ────〖Buttercupkit’s View〗──── This section will go over how Buttercupkit views the role of a medicine cat. Buttercupkit views the role of a medicine cat with wonder. The fact that they can speak to StarClan sounds amazing to him, even a bit magical— he can hardly believe it’s possible. He sees the role of healing clanmates as very important an honorable, sometimes even more important than being an especially exceptional warrior. He’s spoken to Sea-snakeshiver and has a positive opinion of her— he made Buttercupkit feel comfortable, and he became slightly less nervous around him during their conversation. This interaction has improved his view of medicine cats, and has made them seem less intimidating to him. He likes being around Sea-snakeshiver, even if Buttercupkit’s still a bit awkward or quiet at times. As for if he would like to be a medicine cat, I think he would probably prefer being a medicine cat over being a warrior. His empathy for others, and his tendency to view them all as very individual, with their own lives that he tries his best to imagine being in, would make it difficult to fight enemies if it came to a battle. Buttercupkit’s timidness would only exacerbate that— whether it’s a good reason or not, he would simply be too scared to go into battle. If he became a warrior, he could likely get over this eventually, even if some of that fear and reluctance would always remain— he’d have to, >>
<< there wouldn’t be much of a choice if he wanted to be good warrior. But it still isn’t what he’d prefer. Being a medicine cat sounds better to him— the ability to communicate with StarClan and heal his clanmates sounds amazing to him. He’s always doing everything he can to help others (as explained in his “considerate” and “soft” personality trait sections), and being a medicine cat would sound like the perfect chance to do so. Additionally, it would mean his mentors wouldn’t be completely unfamiliar to him, since he doesn’t know many cats over the age of apprenticeship except for Sea-snakeshiver. The role of a medicine cat may sound intimidating to him still, but still much better than being a warrior. ─〖Buttercupkit and the Medicine Cats〗─ This section will discuss how Buttercupkit might fit among the medicine cats, and will compare his personality to them to see how he might act differently or provide something different to the role. ──────〖My Role〗────── Of course, the character isn’t the only important part of being a medicine cat— the roleplayer’s role is just as, if not more so, important. This section will go over what I will be like if I get the role of a medicine cat, including my activity levels. ─────〖Other Notes〗───── ─────〖Conclusion〗───── ──────〖Credits〗────── 〈Layout〉@PaintTheSea (me) 〈Character〉Buttercupkit 〈Character Owner〉@PaintTheSea (me) 〈Roleplay〉The Four Clans Roleplay - RiverClan (TFCRP) 〈Application Hosts〉@-_Gentlebreeze_-, @PebblePawz, and @Pastel-galaxy
