"Give me a name, and I'll kill them before the week is over." "You're an assassin, correct? Judging from what you just said", the receptionist laces his hands together. "Yes, I am. I can work here, can't I?" I snort. "I... suppose you could, if he accepts you." He glances at the telephone, then his eyes flicker back to meet mine. "I have to apply? What kind of rotten business do you run? I thought you just interviewed people and asked them if they could kill", I say. "Well there's the whole process of background checking, and seeing if you're a spy-" I'm not a goddamned spy", I say nastily. "Everyone says that, there's a little thing called lying that happens often", he shoots back. "Listen, we want new... workers, too, but we're not that desperate and don't let in people randomly." "Fine! I'll make an application and let you run a background check." I mentally panic, because I'm supposed to be dead. But it's a good thing I became a citizen here, with the name Rose. I even got an ID and everything, there's no way they'll find out. I only want to join for the money. No, I need to prioritize. I need to destroy Nico before he destroys me for real. Before he finds out where I am, and I'm alive.
