The next day made Cinderpaw wonder more about what that dream meant. But she couldn’t grapple the answer. She was so distracted that she accidentally mixed catmint in the mouse bile for Smallear’s fleas. Yellowfang scolded her once Smallear came complaining of worsened itches. Cinderpaw apologized to both Yellowfang and Smallear before continuing her wonder of that dream. Fox red and raven black will save us from the storm of stone and water… whispered the voice repeatedly in the young medicine cat’s head. Her former mentor, Fireheart, noticed her strange and sudden behavior, so he padded up to her and asked her. Cinderpaw opened her mouth to speak, but she remembered what Yellowfang had said to not tell anyone. So, she just claimed that she was just distracted. As the young apprentice wandered around the camp, she decided to try to ask Yellowfang again. Maybe she just woke up grumpy as usual, not thinking straight. Cinderpaw strolled in the medicine cat den to find Yellowfang sorting out herbs. Yellowfang muttered a few words to herself, possibly murmuring about that some herb stocks are low. I’ll get some later. Thought Cinderpaw. Yellowfang turned around to see Cinderpaw looking at her. “Well? Aren’t you going to say something?” questioned Yellowfang, with a tint of humor in her eyes. Now! So Cinderpaw used his perfect opportunity to speak, “Well, I’ve been thinking about that dream that I had yesterday—” Cinderpaw was cut short by a soft low growl from her mentor. Yellowfang was clearly not a fan of this topic. “I told you last night, it’s just a normal dream.” Said Yellowfang, as she brushed her black fur against Cinderpaw’s gray fur as she began to walk out to gather more herbs. Cinderpaw huffed as Yellowfang continued to walk out of the camp and into the greenleaf forest. But to her dismay, even she began to believe that it was just a dream, and that she was worrying too much. But she also continued to think that the dream was indeed a prophecy, and that it meant more than just a simple message that Yellowfang thinks. That prophecy could and most likely will, impact the clan.
