♡ my opinions on newjeans "ditto" + theories ♡ my opinions: when i first listened to ditto, it wasn't exactly what i was expecting. i didn't quite like it buttttttt after more listens, it has been growing on me and now i really really enjoy listening to it. the whole concept is extremely different to their debut songs; its like sort of creepy and mysterious but newjeans smh adds cuteness to it which i am here for!! the song itself is pretty basic - there are lots of repeated verses but you can never get bored of them and the vocals are out of this world! GUYS THE MV THOUGH.... the graphics are insane, its movie-like with the glitching effects and the static noises. its also really well planned! the uniforms are olden-day style which idk how but makes it so much more emotional - the lyrics, edits and endings are gonna make this world sob. theories: i have read many theories about this song and mv: some being that all the members have di3d and heesoo is the only survivor and is recalling memories or having hallucinations that the newjeans members are still alive. others are that the members are ghosts or heesoo's imaginary friends and heesoo is the only one that can see them. however, one theory that caught my attention the most is the hanni theory. the hanni theory: this theory is basically that hanni knows something that the other members dont know or she has something to do with what happened to the other members. this is shown when she is the only one wearing a black uniform like heesoo and if you look closely enough, you can see that the camera glitches every time hanni is in the frame. in many parts of the music video, hanni is seen being the only one looking towards the camera or being the only one looking away from the camera. (cr: TokkiJeans on yt) others: "to add to the theory, if i’m not mistaken, there’s also an old korean movie called ditto. the movie follows the two main character from 2 different timelines that could communicate with each other through a radio thingy (i forgot what it was). so probably the this could also relates with the newjeans’s ditto. heesoo could only see/communicate with newjeans through the camera, so maybe the camera acts as a mediator between newjeans and heesoo." (not my comment! someone posted it on yt) what do you think of "ditto" by newjeans?
