Fortea issue 2 (the first I didn’t post) I came up with this in the shower so it’s probably trash loll Click to advance Here’s the dialogue because my handwritings trash and scratch ruined the quality *mahler passes by a flyer with a composer simulation game* Mahler: Holst, have you heard of this game? Holst: oh, this? It’s the new craze. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it yet. *(not shown in comic) holst basically explains what the game is* Mahler: so it’s free on your phone? Holst: yeah— ow… (Ok let me explain this real quick - holst irl had neuritis in his right arm, preventing him from playing piano which I think got worse as he got older? I really want to include this in fortea and make it ironic that he was chosen to make the boba despite being kind of clumsy and getting pain because of it. Idk I just think it was a small detail for him to be dropping the phone since I originally made him hold it in his right hand) Holst: it’s really fun… right now I’m married… (Referring to the game, holst in fortea is canonically single like the rest of the main cast since only composers were reborn) Mahler: interesting… *a few hours later* Mahler: hmm, I have a wife and two kids now… Holst: good for you :) *this part is very confusing because I don’t have room but after playing the game* Mahler: wait! This game is a scam! I literally died with my wife cheating and my child dying! Holst: have you read the small text on the flyer? Mahler: wait what… *on the flyer in small text is says “historically accurate”* Mahler: sigh… And then there’s a drawing of isobel and alma because I was going to add some background information for this comic but then decided not to because I’m lazy loll Meanwhile… Brahms: oh Clara… Beethoven: oh immortal beloved… Ok so if you couldn’t already tell this comic is only somewhat funny and makes sense if you’re a composer nerd like me So basically the game is supposed to simulate a composer’s family/love life but the text says “historically accurate” meaning that each story is specific to the composer’s past. For example it says holst got married right. This is historically accurate as he got married to isobel. If this were holst pov he would also have a child, Imogen. This is why holst is pretty happy/unbothered after playing it, because he lived a relatively good and wholesome life with his family, and why Mahler is upset after playing the game, because alma kind of cheated on him and there was lots of conflict between the two (also one of his kids died which was really sad for him). The game is supposed be a trip down memory lane, to their past lives. Ok next time I make a comic it’ll probably have to do with shosty and strava, or Brahms and beetho. Sorry if this is historically inaccurate I had remember all of this with memory and there was no research done loll
