Life of Billie Cae - written as if she has done a diary entry every year since she was six to sixteen ——————— Age 6: Hi my name is Billie I am 6 years old! I have a bunny called snuffles and I was born on the 14th of February, and mummy says that it’s Valentine’s Day. I have a best friend called Maisey and we love to play tag and musical statues! I love music so much! Bye! Age 7: Hello my name is Billie, I am 7 years old. Daddy got me a new head band today! I really like it! Also Mummy tied my hair in two pony tails and I look like I’m a bear! But I don’t mind, Maisey thought it looked nice. I am getting piano lessons! My teachers all say I am above average in all classes but I don’t know what it means. Bye! Age 8: Hi my name is Billie I am 8 years old. Today I was playing tag with Maisey when I tripped and cut my nose on a rock! It really hurt and I cried. Maisey hugged me and the teacher gave me a plaster. There is this girl in my class called Lily, and she is really pretty. All the other girls except for Maisey make fun of her for dressing and acting like the boys. I think she is really nice. Bye! Age 9: Hola! Me llamo Billie! I have been learning Spanish! I am not very good and that is all Ik so far so I’ll just have to say the rest in English. I am 9 years old today! However I have had the worst luck! In PE I was kicked in the face by a girl (by accident)! I had a really bad nose bleed! My nose still aches now! Maisey gave me a necklace with a star on today, and I’ll wear it forever! Bye! Age 10: Hello… My name is Billie, I am 10 years old. My rabbit, snuffles died yesterday. I loved him so much. Thankfully he died peacefully. The girls in my class are still being horrible to Lily, and now they are bullying me too. Reason? I may have told them to shut up and leave her alone, and to use what small brain power they have to do something productive for once. The teacher heard and told me off, but I don’t regret it. I am at level 3 for keyboard after I aced my level 2 test last Saturday! Bye! Age 11: Hi! My teacher has found out that I work best while listening to music! So now she lets me listen all the time through headphones, but she can pause it when she needs to talk to me! I am so happy! Well except from the girls bullying Lily and I. Now they have started to bully Maisey for being my friend! Bye! Age 12: Hello I’m Billie and I’m 12 years old! I decided to have my hair cut short, and I really like it! I got my ears pierced earlier as it is my birthday, and I got Bee earrings. My parents surprised me with a pet frog! I called him froggy and I love him so much! He will never replace snuffles, but I love him just as much as I loved her. I played the piano in the school play at my secondary school (I started 5 months ago!) and I was given the biggest standing ovation ?! It was so fun! Bye! Age 13: Hi my name is Billie and I am 13 years old! I am a teenager! The girls who bullied Lily and I have apologised. We forgave them. Lily is actually Liam now, he/they pronouns. I think I have a crush on him… in fact I think I have since the day I met him… that leads on to the fact that I have realised I’m pansexual. My parents have been very supportive! Maisey has asked me to refer to her as they/them, and I said of course! Guess what!? I lost the star necklace Maisey gave to me years ago! But they said it’s alright and that they also lost theirs a few days ago. My teachers have done the same thing as my primary teachers - they let me listen to music in class when I’m working. My work has never been better! I also died my hair blue, and I’m growing it out again! Bye! Age 14: Hello! My name is Billie and I’m 14 years old! I love music so much! I now play the drums and the keyboard/piano. Maisey and I are still best friends! I still have a huge crush on Liam! He is so kind and funny! We are close friends with him now! I have found my own sense of style, and I love it! I also got my nose pierced. Bye! Age 15: Hello my name is Billie, I am 15 years old! I have grown my hair out again and died it red and I love it! AND I got another nose piercing! It was Valentine’s Day/ my birthday yesterday and I gave Liam a valentines card and asked him out… he said yes! He has actually admitted that he has always had a crush on me too! I am in the school band and we go to lots of competitions and we have come first 5 times! Bye! Age 16: Hi my name is Billie and I am 16 years old! This is my last year of secondary school, and I am going to miss it. Maisey is still my best friend, along with Liam, who I am still dating! We are SO close! I am going on to study music in college and university, and I am so excited! Music allllll day! It will be heaven!
