❀ Click the flag and then click space! ❀ ✿ I don't hate Ashfur. Most people do, but I don't. I actually feel kinda bad for him. He took so good care of Squirrelflight while Brambleclaw and her were quarreling. He never meant any harm, until he was harmed himself. After Squirrelflight chose Brambleclaw over him, he wanted revenge. But I don't blame him. After all Ashfur did for her, she still chose Brambleclaw over him? Now, he might have overreacted, but like Yellowfang says, "He only loved too much," and he was also let into StarClan, as seen in Squirrelfligh's Hope, when she had died. Before he died, he did threaten to kill her kits, and after Squirrelflight said they weren't hers, he was doing what was right, by going to tell everyone some cat broke the code. And in the Broken Code, he takes Bramblestar's body for his own. He tells Shadowsight, "There is a darkness in the clans that must be driven out" he also lists cats who really have broken the code. After he exiles Squirrelflight, he expects her to come back. But she doesn't. This leads to Ashfur/Bramblestar being depressed. After Bristlefrost lies, saying she died, he thinks it's all his fault. Ashfur says, "I know somewhere, deep down, Squirrelflight still loves me" he came back for her. He risked his life in StarClan to come down and steal Bramblestar's body, just to be with her. In the battle at the end of "Veil of Shadows" he sees that his most trusted warrior, Bristlefrost, has lied. He gets knocked out, and brought to the ShadowClan medicine den where he is kept alive. When Squirrleflight enters the den, Bramblestar's body says, "Squirrelflight, I came back for you" He risked everything to be with her, but she rejected him once more. I can see from his point of view. It's hard to let go of something so meaningful, even if it means nothing. ✿
