So lately I have felt an uncontrollable urge to draw Donatello from Rise. So I decided to make a project to display my attempts. The good, and the bad.....I swear the first attempt might be bad, but it gets better! Anyways, here it is, the age of Donnie.... (Space or Click) 1. The first attempt. Done on flipaclip. I despise it, the proportions and everything are wrong. 2. Second attempt, done on paper. I like this one a lot, and might finish it up later. The forehead isn't big enough, but I think it's good. 3. A return to drawing Donnie digitally. This one was rougher, and it's ok, it's more of a rough sketch for something else I'm working on. The proportions are better than the first digital one, and it was done on Autodesk Sketchbook. The fourth one took a while, so I included a process. It was done on Autodesk Sketchbook, like the one prior. Scratch did not do the process justice, however. 1. Attempt fours storyboard, basically Donatello in front of buildings with his Tech-bo 2. A rough sketch. Basically blocking out more of what I want him to look like. 3. The refined sketch. fixing things up, so I can go over it in the lineart layer. 4-5: Lineart then color 6: Final, I spent about 6 hours on the drawing at this point, so I didn't do a complex background. 7. Another version, with a better background, and a few touch ups on lighting. This took me an additional 3 hours, so overall it took 10 hours :/ I really like it though! END
Character is Donatello from Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and is not owned by me. All art is by me :) Done in Flipaclip, Autodesk Sketchbook and in paper, then quality was screwed up by Scratch
