“I believe your sister can answer that.” The princess's voice was smooth and silky. She nodded toward Vine. “I got permission for you to come visit the Fairy Palace for a day! You'll get to see what Mom and I do to serve the royal family!” Vine announced excitedly. She had obviously been waiting to say that for a while. “Seriously?” Lily bounced on the balls of her feet. “For real?” “Yep!” Princess Eden confirmed. “It's in two days. You'll get an entire day of royal treatment, and you're basically going to follow me around all day and see what it's like to be one of the Royal Fairies! Assuming you get out of that tree, of course.” She winked and went back through the portal with her Portal Fairy handmaid. The portal then vanished. Vine freed Lily from the tree and smiled. “Well, I should probably go. Lots of things to do at the Fairy Palace, you know. See you soon!” Lily skipped home, daydreaming about her upcoming visit to the Palace. The princess’s words echoed in her head. An entire day of royal treatment! It was practically her dream come true. Lily spun around, giggling, and wandered into a small meadow reserved for small animals. She carelessly stepped forward and crushed a spider. Mist slowly swirled around her, even though it was the middle of the day. Panicking, Lily flew into the regular forest toward her treehouse, but the mist followed her. It got so thick, she couldn't see her hand in front of her. After a few seconds, the mist cleared, but instead of a forest, Lily was standing in a flat place with an occasional dead tree, or a poorly built hut made of dry grass. Lily was now a banished Nature Fairy.
