Some backstory for °Es°

Ok. I'm doing this because I don't want to draw a chapter this week. Chapter five is still coming, just later. Anywayyyyyyyyyyy... So, Elania's mother, Amotu, was in charge of finding the Everstone when she was young. She never intended to settle down or have kids. But then the Archs, the matriarch and patriarch of their society, assigned her a helper. Someone who was good with runes, someone who knew all about the myths. Markk Fallback. Markk and Amotu weren't exactly happy about this. But the Archs insisted, so they were forced to work together. Markk eventually realized that he had developed feelings for Amotu, but he kept them hidden. Amotu suspected him, and confronted him about the odd way that he was acting. He confessed, and she went to the Archs. She laid out reasons why he shouldn't work with her any longer, but still they said Markk and Amotu were a team, no matter what. Amotu began ignoring Markk, and he continued to work around his feelings. But soon, Markk began to resent being ignored. So he decided to foolishly go off on his own and try to find the Everstone so that Amotu would appreciate him. Of course, since he wasn't trained, he got lost. He was gone for weeks, and Amotu began to worry. She cared about Markk, even though she had no interest in a relationship with him. She set out to find him, ending up in some sort of temple. The art on the walls indicated it was once the holding place for the Everstone. Markk was trapped in a room. He was weak from dehydration and lack of food. Amotu got him out and took him back to her temporary camp. There she nursed him back to health. He confessed that he hadn't gotten over his feelings for her. She told him "I don't want to hurt you, but the only thing I can tell you is not right now. I'm busy, and even if I did love you in that way, I can't abandon my quest." He agreed with her statement, and silently resolved to wait as long as he had to. Several years later, after having worked together nearly a decade, they got married. Amotu and Markk were happy, and soon Amotu was expecting a child, whom they would name Elania. After the girl was born and when she was old enough to be weaned, Amotu left on another quest to find the Everstone. She was never seen again. Markk was devastated of course, and he still struggles with the worry that his daughter will disappear like her mother before her.
